Pretty much a typical outfit for me today: lots of black, something sheer and girlish accents. I'm planning to use today to chill out, calm myself and be a little productive, yet so far all I have done is watch the news (which is so saddening and shocking to see) and flick through some of my favourite blogs. Typical.

(Long-line sheer blouse, Peacocks;
Black panelled dress, Miss Selfridge;
Black ruffle T-bar sandals, Primark;
Ring, Topshop;
Wooden cut 'Ampersand' necklace, c/o Maria Allen Jewellery.)

I bought this long-line blouse months ago, back in March I think, and honestly never wear it. It was definitely an impulse buy, and is far too big for me! Decided it wear it over a little black dress to see if it would sway my opinion but I don't think it has. Le sigh. This black panelled tunic, however, will forever be in my good books: such a simple, flattering piece and honestly one of my favourite things in my very-overfull wardrobe. I also decided to wear these T-bar sandals, they came out last SS'11 in Primark and sold out before I could make my mind up on them, and I hunted through the Southampton, London Oxford Circus and Cambridge stores before finding a pair! Don't you love it when you manage to acquire "most-wanted" items?!

Really looking forward to next season now, the summer is actually quite lovely and relaxed, but I'm ready to get stuck in with my new modules at Uni for final year, experiment with another AW wardrobe and be able to justify my love for layering. I even want to buy some jeans so I don't freeze! At the moment I'm after some new boots, I'm dithering between these ASOS ones - so I can live my Isabel Marant dream on a smaller budget, these River Island ones - although I doubt I'd wear such a high wedge in the daytime, or these a-bit-too-simple-for-the-price Topshop Chelsea boots. Help!

PS. Look at my Mamabear's beautiful birthday cake/chocolate torte! It was her birthday yesterday and she was a very spoilt lady!

  2. You look lovely, I think the shirt looks nice over the dress! I think I like the Topshop boots the best, they'd go with everything. Your mother's birthday cake looks so nice, I wouldn't have had the heart to cut into it!

  4. I really wanted these shoes! After looking in Oxford Circus and Hammersmith, I just gave up. This outfit is really nice, and I am glad your mum had a good birthday. You should try the macaroons from Paul, they're delicious and only cost a fraction of the Ladurée price. ; )

  7. Lovely outfit, that sheer blouse is so pretty! I've been considering the topshop and river island ones.. I'd go for the latter I think, the chelsea boots might not be that well made.. xx

  8. Jane: Thank you sweetie! I really don't like the shirt anymore, it looks nice, but is so big that I don't feel comfortable in it haha. xx

    Rose: Aw thanks lovely (: I'm sure my neighbours think I'm vain, self-obsessed, etc. but I love my blog and doing what I do, so I'm not particularly bothered right now haha. I love the ASOS ones too, leaning more towards them at the moment! xxxx

    Elodie: Haha I was so determined to find them because I saw that Topshop had a £38 version :-P Thank you lovely, I'm sure I will one day! x

    Olivia: Thank you Liv! I'm definitely leaning towards the ASOS ones now, I'm frantically switching between the three tabs to decide right now! xxx

    Daniela: Aw thank you lovely! x

    Rachel: Thank you Rachel! I'm leaning towards the RI or ASOS ones at the moment, I did try the Topshop ones but they felt too stiff and not right really, just think they'd be the most wearable! xx

  10. I actually really love this blouse, it looks really casual and slouch-y with the rolled-up sleeves but still girly and cute, I really love the pattern - I think it looks a lot more expensive than Peacocks! I am really looking forward to AW season now too, I never thought I'd be tired of summer (despite the awful weather we've been having) but I can't wait to pull out my big cardigans, boots and scarves again!

  22. Hannah: Thank you doll <3 The general consensus seems to be to go for the ASOS ones at the moment, so I think I will be quite likely to buy them!

    Rosie: Thanks lovely! It looks a bit better with the sleeves rolled up, I might shorten the length and see if that helps though. Eeeep me too, I've never been a summer gal, I'll still be sad to see it go but can't wait for AW! xxxx

    Stacey: Aw thanks sweet (: Gah I don't know, I might try the RI ones on and see how I feel, I can't really afford them anyway so I might hint to the parents as well! Atm am leaning towards the ASOS pair! xx

    Saf: Thank you!

    Jade: Thanks lovely! It's actually laser cut from wood, such a beautiful piece. xx

    Grace: Thank you Grace :D

    Holly and Cara: Thanks sweety. xx

    Hannah: Thanks sweet, hope you're all good! (:

    Cherry: Oh I know right! Got it with a 40% discount offer and my student discount so it was super cheap! Still not 100% convinced on it though :-P

    Tabitha: Aw thanks lovely!

    Jen: Thanks Jen, hope you're well <3

    Emily: Thank you! I think it is by far my favourite necklace (: The cake was so good, I think I even piled the weight on from smelling it though, so fattening hahaha!

    Sarah: It's beautiful, isn't it!? xo

    Ria: So awful to hear about, I wish the Met Police would make their mind up about tactics to solve the problem and prevent any further damage being done too. Thanks sweetie (:

  30. I like the Topshop ones! If you buy the RI ones, there's a possibility that you won't wear them day to day because they're so high?
    I love your blouse, it reminds me of a kimono :) xx

  47. Loving the blouse worn like that, it looks like a kimono style top. It's lovely.

    Also yes, Chinese ViVi has slightly different content than the Japanese one. I've noticed that too. It's much cheaper though....

  50. Emma: That queue jumper took. the. piss. >:( Still proud of myself for managing to get in there before she did! Aaah did you?! Well 'cited to see you wear it (non creepy way and all!), and I genuinely miss your face Emma! xxxx

    Stefany: Thank you lovely! It's really long, I'm going to unpick the stitches at the waist and turn it into a kimono I think (: Ooh I think I'll have a look for that tomorrow in town, thanks!

    Maria: Aw thanks sweet! Mm I didn't feel comfortable in it at all, just a really awkward fit I think. Oh me too haha, I'm glad I'm not the only very-far-in-advance planner ;) xxx

    Winnie: Thanks Winnie! I've never bought two of the same issue in different editions so I'd never noticed. Might alternate between editions to get maximum content now haha. I've not been back at Christmas in years, so much cooler and easier to manage (:

    Tesh: Aw thanks lovely :D

    Sarah: It was so so good! Felt the lbs piling on from just looking at it though!

    myreverienotes: Thank you so much (: I'm definitely considering it now, just want to make some stitching alterations to it!
