God bless the British summer for getting me out of a trip to the wildlife park to feed tigers today(!) I woke up this morning to see rain-soaked pavements and garden outside, and was surprisingly quite pleased, the heat and humidity has been a bit unbearable, 30°C while still on hometurf leaves me at a bit of a loss of what to do. I was also forced to retreat back indoors for my photos today because it rained so much!

Wearing this safari inspired outfit today: I've been after a soft, slouched fit pair of khaki shorts - without going down the cargo route - all summer, and finally tracked these down in the new London Forever 21 store last week. I'm currently after a not-too-sheer, double breasted pocketed, sleeveless white shirt to wear with these shorts, but today, a simple heart print tee also felt "right".
Despite my consistent moaning about the summer, August is probably one of my favourite months. I love the slow trickle of AW collections coming into stores, and literally can't wait for the upcoming Fashion Weeks! Must remember to apply for my London Fashion Week pass again this season! I spent my entire Sunday immersed in magazines getting super excited for New York FW after reading Victoria Beckham and Nicola Formichetti's interviews in ELLE Collections (a must-buy for fellow fashion enthusiasts!). So inspiring.
Also just wanted to reflect on the past twenty months (!!!) that have somehow escaped me since I started this little blog. Never in a million years would I expect that people wanted to read my inane musings and words about fashion and style. I started this blog as a seperate platform for me to write, away from my Uni work, and it has since grown into something I'm truly proud of. I've learnt so much about my personal style and my wardrobe and "fashion head" has definitely evolved into something that feels more me. The Look Show is coming up again, and I'd be so grateful to go along to it again (I went as a plus one with Lily last season and it was such a lovely show!), but this time as a front row blogger. I'm sure you all know I live and breathe the fashion industry: blogging at the Look Show would be such an amazing experience, and of course, something I'd love to share with you pretty bunch! This is my "entry" to the competition, I'm keeping everything crossed; wish me luck?
Anyway, I'm going to get into some comfies, and spend my evening reading the September issue of UK Vogue! Hopefully I'll get some time to write a much belated Ways to Wear installment for tomorrow as well, I'll be covering sheer shirts as requested a few weeks ago. Anyone have exciting plans for rainy England today?
