Morning all! If this posts correctly, I'll be at work as you read this week's installment. I completely forgot about my shifts so decided to schedule a post instead. After a tumultuous, unorganised and uninspired few weeks in late June/early July, my blogging "mojo" (hate that term, Cheryl Cole and that L'Oreal advert killed it for me...) has truly returned!

This week's featured garment is the faithful pair of jeans. An old favourite of absolutely everyone, no matter what style you are acclined to, jeans can be super flattering, casual or dressed up at any time. I've had so many requests for this edition of Ways to Wear, and kept skipping it purely because they're relatively easy to style, but after a quick Twitter debate, I gave in and decided to showcase three on-trend and wearable jeans Looks!

Get the look! 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.

My initial inspiration for Look One came from the hippie, boho look, infused with the Oriental luxe trend that is currently doing the rounds on the High Street. It feels very Whitney Port to me! Wear the 70's flared jeans with a longer length sleeveless blouse, thigh skimming is a good length, and leave it untucked. Then pop this beautiful kimono sleeve jacket over the top: belted or unbelted depending on what you feel comfortable with. If you have a small waist, cinch it in! The pop of coral is essential to providing that Summer feel. Saw these Swedish Hasbeen imitations in H&M for a bargainous £9.99 too, key to finishing off this outfit.

As recommended by Sarah, I specifically styled an evening type of look this week. Jeans can easily be worn out, and are so underrated for nights out. Go for super skinny with a pair of wedges for a sleek, streamlined look, but balance it out with some softer shapes. I'd wear the silk crepe shirt open, obviously to show off those amazing sequins! The Paulina wedges really remind me of those Prada peeptoe heels that I fell in love with a few months ago. To coordinate with the streamlined feel of this Look, put your hair up into a topknot, pull a few wisps out to frame your face, and whip on some red lipstick!

My third look this week is ultimate casual chic: this is something I'd opt to wear for a casual day out with some friends. I barely wear jeans anymore, but boyfriend jeans have always been a favourite of mine, so comfy in comparison to skinny jeans and flattering too! I like the contrast of a slogan tee and pretty crochet detailing: these are both from F+F for Tesco and I'd happily wear them together! Finished off with simple sandals, and some pretty Disney Couture jewellery. Again, a topknot would be my first choice of hairstyle to go with this look!

I hope you enjoyed this week's installment. I'll definitely cover jeans again soon, there are hundreds of ways to style up some good to honest denim, I'm just biding my time! What are your favourite pieces and Looks from this week's feature? Hope everyone is having a lovely week, I'll be back later in the week with an outfit (if I decide to get changed...)!

  1. I love this week's ways to wear. I don't even see jeans as some fashionable items, I just see them as convenience. They're easy to throw on, and I usually don't really worry about what I pair them with. This post has been really helpful! :) I love the third look!

  2. These are such pretty looks, I really need to invest in some decent jeans! Could you add cycling shorts (the fashion ones not the real ones!) to your list of ways to wear requests please? I've got a pair but think they look stupid with anything I try to team them with!

  25. I don't like jeans, but that second outfit...waaaaant! Everything is adorable. I wish I wasn't broke atm because that sequin top is beautiful, i'm actually shocked Topshop have glitzy-party-season-type things in stock already and its only mid July! Not complaining though :) You're so good at putting outfits together,I really adore these posts :) xo
