Dressed quite simple and summery today, wearing my standard black tones as ever, I'm just more drawn to autumnal palettes than pastels and brights! I really wanted to brave a cropped top and skirt look, but a) it looks like it's going to pour down with rain in a minute, the clouds are thick and black outside my house right now, and b) I'd feel a bit exposed while not abroad!

(Black panelled tunic dress worn as top, Miss Selfridge;
Pink skater skirt, Topshop;
Cream lace detail skinny belt, Primark;
Leaf necklace, Topshop;
Wooden Ampersand necklace, c/o Maria Allen Jewellery;
Swan ring, Topshop.)

Nothing too special to comment on here: the panelled tunic remains a favourite of mine, despite it being around two years old now, and I thought the subtle panelling would look sweet with my simple skirt. By the way, anyone else find that this Topshop skirt would easily win the prize for most easily creased skirt?! I added the belt halfway through my photos, and quite like it, although I get tired of wearing belts, and usually take them off! I think we might be popping out later, if so, I'll probably throw on my London Fashion Week canvas tote and my little navy moccasins. I never wear shoes indoors, so it seems ridiculous to wear them for the sake of outfit photos taken indoors!

Thought I'd have a bit of a catch up with you all; I haven't been away from little Daisy for this long since my trip to Paris with the Uni girls last year! It's been good to have a bit of a detox from the Internet and focus on reality, but I'm more than ready to sit down with a coffee and read through my favourite blogs now.

So what has been happening in my world? Well... I had a sweet start to the week with some relaxation at home, and a little walk and long conversations by the lakes in my hometown accompanied by a pink sunset. I had an awful, awful shift at work, involving (very) young footballers pelting me with water balloons and jelly. Whatever happened to parenting?! I finally got to meet Emma, Emma, Zoe and Lily, amongst other bloggers and some fab brand representatives, at the iFabbo event which was so much fun in the sweetest little venue. Lots more to share about that next week, a huge thank you to Tonia for having us! And finally, I've been an emotional wreck on many occasions, primarily because of 'final Harry Potter week' woes.

I might be going to Brent Cross today. I need a new handcream (mainly for work!) and a new midyear diary. I must be one of the only people around who like midyear diaries? Recommendations on a postcard if you have any favourite handcreams? If not, I'll just plump for my old fave, L'Occitane. Finally, a huge hello to my lovely new followers, and thank you to Gem and Lauren for linking to me this week. I shall leave you with this snap I found on Tumblr. Bloody beautiful, in the humble words of Ronald Bilius Weasley.

I couldn't track back to the original source of this, hello over 10,000 notes on all HP related things on Tumblr!

  6. Aww, you look stunning, Mish:) It´s nice to have you back as well:) I was such a wreck over the premiere, it was insane really. the final speeches totally did my head in! Going to the cinema to watch DH next Saturday but I´ve got such mixed feelings about it...beyond excited and but on the other hand broken that it´s all pretty much over:( I kinda feel like it´s the final full stop to my childhood.

    Anyway, don´t wanna ramble:) As for hand creams - Nivea Pure and Natural have a really good one, then Dermacol Aroma Time that smells like cinnamon (yums, a bit inappropriate for summer but whatevz:)) or good old red Garnier hand cream. Those are my all time faves x

  21. I love that skirt on you, the colour really suits you! Sounds like you've had a nice few days at home (not so much about the jelly and water balloons, that's not good!) Looking forward to hearing more about iFabbo! Oh and I love mid-year diaries, mainly because I love stationery so much I can never choose a diary and that way it means I get to have two per year! :)

  22. I love the outfit when you've got the white belt on. I love how it breaks up the colors! I'm glad you've been having fun lately, minus the JELLY thrown at you?! How awful. I would've lost it and freaked out on those kids haha. I've got no patience.

    By the way, I'm so in love with the little mug you've got instead of the Blogger symbol on the address part of your page! And the little tag line. Super cute :)

  27. hand cream recc- johnsons (pink tube), about £2 quid in boots. seriously, it was amazing in the winter and trumps my laura mercier creme brulee (though that wins in the scent category)
