Hello pretty reader! I believe you're here for another installment of my Ways to Wear series? Well I'm not one to disappoint, I have three sweet and summery looks to share with you as usual today. I hope you've all been well, and basking in the sunshine! I'll be popping into town just after I publish this post, and am thinking of investing in some new moccasins? We shall see!

The featured garment this week is the infamous crop top. Perhaps you have one from an abandoned gym spree? Or even a slightly dodgy 80s fancy dress evening? The very thought of the term 'crop top' brings to mind images of bare midriffs, popstar-wannabe children and 90's singers themselves, but it doesn't always have to be worn in the ways we have been so accustomed to in the media. The best part? You don't "have" to have a bikini bod to pull off this look! As always, I've linked to the items used in my looks, but there are similar ones available from New Look, H&M, and in different sleeve lengths and styles too!

Get the look! 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

Look One is a very easy to wear, casual outfit, comprising a Breton striped crop top, camel coloured tapered jeans and sandals. Tapered jeans are super cute and a great way to integrate a simple jean with the constant struggle to find a perfect pair of elusive peg leg trousers. I desperately want a pair of these! This look can easily be worn with a lightweight cream/beige knit like this one from Topshop, if you are nervous about having your stomach on show. I think a very simple pair of nude sandals is key to pulling this look together, while keeping it all fresh and summery. I'd also throw these two necklaces on: the skull is an effortless way to add "edge" to the outfit, white the single pearl brings the light colours together and keeps it feminine.

Get the look! 1, 2, 3, 4.

I really like Look Two, as frustrating as it was to put together. I really wanted to feature a paperbag waist midi skirt, but of course, I couldn't find any on the British high street to show on here. Just imagine this Look had that effect though! Making another nod to the Aztec prints that are everywhere with this crop top, which would look so nice an inch or two above a paperbag waist... Again, if you are shy, I would wear a cream/grey/off-white body underneath this for a similar look. The finishing touch with this outfit is a pair of drop feather earrings - perfect.

Get the look! 1, 2, 3.

I channelled Mary-Kate Olsen with a few touches of Ashley Olsen with Look Three this week. The neutral palette is very Olsen, and the draped fits are very reminiscent of the sisters' signature style. Pop the bra top on top of the maxi dress - yes really - and then throw a crochet fringe top over it all for a laidback, luxe look. I believe there is a similar Primark version to this Topshop fringed top! Of course, you'd have to wear some oversized round frame sunglasses, bohemian wavy hair and possibly a huge floppy hat for ultimate Olsen-style!

Well, that wasn't so painful now, was it? There are so many ways to incorporate crop tops into everyday wear. If I had the time to throw a sneaky Look Four in the mix, I'd totally recommend wearing a cropped tee with dark denim high waisted shorts and white Converse, my sister absolutely lives in that look and looks so darling in it. Hope everyone is well, I'm spending the day with my Mama tomorrow, I wanted to pop over to the Mudpie Trend Seminars but I don't have the time or money - boo! Don't forget, I'm just an email/Tweet away if you'd like to see a particular garment featured in my Ways to Wear series.

  2. Really like the third outfit! wearing the bra ontop of the dress maxi dress (or even rolling it down so it's a high-waisted maxi skirt.... i saw it on a blog somewhere, could have been this one?!) and a fringe top ontop would be perrrrrfect for my more-than-slightly untonned stomach! x

  10. I love your WtW, and I think this week may be my favourite! I like crop tops, but not showing off my midriff, so being able to cover it with high waisted things is brilliant. I especially love that aztec print one!

  13. Great feature! I can't wear crop tops, though, I just feel so... bare. Not that I'm prude or anything, I just feel naked in them, hahaha (at least, in daylight). Then again, I don't wear bikinis, either. Maybe I'm just too self-conscious.
