Happy Summer Solstice, readers! I've been struggling with an inner battle to spend tonight doing something fun and/or memorable, or relaxing because I'm so exhausted for no apparent reason. So far so good though, I've already woken up early to make the most of the longest day of the year (before 9am, on a day where I have no plans?!), consumed an egg on toast, watched a Michael Mcintyre DVD, posted a book review on my other blog and stood outside in the rain snapping outfit photos.

(Jumper, via Mama's wardrobe;
Peter pan collar polka dot dress, Topshop;
Swallow brooch, Primark;
Bow brooch, saved from a necklace ages ago;
Little tan lace insert brogues, Primark.)

Not much to say today. This is quite frankly a ridiculous outfit for midsummer! It's cute though, and makes me feel like a Sailormoon character, so all works out well in the end. I've noticed my entire wardrobe and tastes shift recently, I need to have a huge wardrobe overhaul, which I'll probably do by sorting my wardrobe contents into 'keep', 'eBay', 'blog sale' and 'charity store' piles. I'm excited for AW11, nothing pleases me more than autumnal colours, light layering, chunky knits and the whole laidback feel to the Autumn. Sorry Summer, I've had enough of your bipolar weather!

Still experimenting with my camera for outfit posts, I can't decide what lighting and aperture is "best" to show my clothes and outfits in their true nature. Bear with me and the many unfocused shots, while I faff around and try everything out on the blog. In other less frivolous news, one of my best friends is jetting off to America for work experience today, for a whole four months, so weird that I won't see her. My other best friend is currently spending a few days in hospital, I'm a little bit worried about her but we think she's going to be okay. Sorry if I'm a bit absent on the ol' Twitter and that. Going to chain-watch Personal Taste/Preference until I work out what I want to do for the rest of my day!

PS. Booked my midnight showing tickets for Harry Potter in 3D earlier! So excited, although I'm getting a little emotional and teary-eyed already, I'm often a sobbing mess when I see trailers and spoiler clips online!

  3. This is, hands down, my favorite outfit of yours in all the outfits you posted. I love the "cutesy" feeling of it and yes, it definitely reminds me of Sailor Moon! Speaking of which, did you watch that in Chinese, English or Japanese growing up?

    Hope all is well with your friend. xx

  4. Aw, heaps cute outfit! Love that jumper.
    I totally had no idea it was Summer Solstice today, haha. I do remember waking up at 4am this morning and recall it being quite light in the room, already. But I only woke up that early because I'm ill, eurgh.
    New cameras can be so annoying! It took me a little while to get the hang of mine, for the first few weeks I shot in Auto mode.

  5. Nic: Thank you (: I'm all for comfort at the moment, I'm inexplicably tired all the time recently. Aaah me too, I love layering up and playing with colours, whereas the SS seasons just get me down, and I throw on whatever works with the weather :-P xx

    Krissy: Thank you!

    Alyse: Thanks Alyse! I watched it in Chinese when I was little, so tempted to watch some episodes online, even though I know that's the geekiest thing ever... Thanks hun, think she is ok, docs are keeping her in hospital til the weekend. xx

    Michelle: Thanks lovely (: I knew it was either today or tomorrow, always so "nice" thinking that it's the Summer Solstice, something really magical and romantic about it. Aaah I've been trying out the different settings and getting a little frustrated, will totes end up resorting to Auto mode for outfits soon haha. x
