Happy Wednesday girls! Happy hour begins... right now, with another Ways to Wear edition! I decided to use this week to bring the W2W series back to its' roots, with garments you're extremely likely to have lurking in your wardrobe already, but are reluctant to rewear because it's been overworn already. I'll still be taking any specific requests that readers want featured, please just drop me an email or Formspring question, or even a simple Tweet, and I'll add it in my new blogging schedule. (NB. Blogging schedule = Post-it note hastily stuck on my laptop!)

This week's featured item is the staple of all staples in any wardrobe, a basic white T-shirt. For the purposes of the Look collages below, I am using the Topshop tee, which retails at £15. Of course, you can buy these from absolutely anywhere, although I'm 99.9% sure that you already have one. I'd also like to mention quickly, that white T-shirts absolutely require a nude T-shirt bra, and not white. Trust me here guys, a clearly visible bra is not a good look with T-shirts. My personal preference with T-shirts, as with all of my clothes, is a looser, slouchy fit, I just find they sit well on me and make me look curvier than I am - win!

Get the look! 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

Look One is a laidback chic look. It is very much inspired by the gorgeous Sarah at Burn the Blonde, who always inspires me to get back in my jeans for a girly, fresh and simple look. I'm really into crochet at the moment, and am in love with these little fringed waistcoats. The one in this look is from H&M, and retails at £29.99, which seems a bit hefty for H&M to be honest. For the more money-conscious (ahem, me), there is a cheaper version, which is pretty much exactly the same, from New Look, for half the price! I've linked it above as #2. Although many of you won't want to wear wedges on an everyday basis, this pair - also from H&M - are quite neutral and will go with almost any outfit. Adding some height will dress the look up a little, and will improve your posture, making you appear more confident.

Get the look! 1, 2, 3, 4.

I think I styled Look Two with an idea of meadows, English summer whimsicality and a Lula-esque feel. Guess who's been listening far too much in editorial styling lectures again? ;) I saw this Daisy Chain dungaree playsuit on the Yayer website yesterday and knew it was perfect. It can actually be worn without the white T-shirt, but for the purposes of this post, and to make the item a little more wearable and attainable, I've place the top underneath. This look is all about the feminine flourishes and pastel colours: floral headbands are very 'in' again *cringe* and look so sweet with wavy, undone, tousled hair. Think bedhead hair! I like these moccassin boots, they're something a little different and would be SO comfy! I also added a pair of adorable frill Tabio socks to tie in the colours. No jewellery with this look, it would be a bit too much!

Get the look! 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

Look Three this week is my favourite by far. I think I might treat myself to an item or two from this look! Of course the T-shirt would be tucked into the belted high waisted shorts. I think tucking a T-shirt into a skirt or shorts really dresses a look up. I'm absolutely in love with this kimono jacket from ASOS, the fluted sleeve detail and sheer chiffon is so gorgeous, I'd really recommend clicking the link (#1 above) and watching the video version, it sits so well and has so much movement! Like in Saturday's outfit, I've added a simple necklace to coordinate against the lines of the jacket, this should elongate the body, and flatter your body. Pop two simple bracelets on the same wrist (hello ASOS £6 bargains!) and you're good to go, a perfect outfit with a little nod to the Oriental trend for day or night dependant on your choice/preference of footwear!

I hope you enjoyed this week's installment, and that it has inspired you to wear your white T-shirts in new ways. It's so easy to fall into a pattern and routine with basics, but it's also so easy to wear in hundreds of ways! Also, if you liked last week's installment and those Zara ethic sandals, I've found a very similar pair at New Look right here ladies, so go crazy ladies, the weekend is near and your feet deserve a pretty new home to go out in!

  2. Wow, I´ve gotta say I totally love your W2Ws and I always get excited when I see you´ve posted one. Look 2 is my favourite out of those three (I like 1 and 3 as well, though!:)) - I´d never think of pairing it with moccassins but it works amazingly well together. You´re a bit of a genius really:) x

  23. I love all these looks, I think the first one is my favourite. I really like the classic look of a white tshirt and jeans with tan accessories, but I hardly ever wear it. Will definitely have to drag out my jeans and a white tshirt from the back of my wardrobe for the summer!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Well you certainly guessed right as I'm sat here right now wearing a white T-shirt and I have two more in my wardrobe! I really love the shorts in the third look!

    ReplyDelete
  25. The third one is my fave too! I don't even have a plain white tee, how awful is that!? xx

  26. Emma: Thank you so much lover! I might have to order the kimono soon, everything from Look Three is waiting in my basket and my self-control is speedily waning! Might just opt for the bracelets instead though... xx

Gillian: Thank you! Me too, such classic colours for effortless chic! Glad you enjoyed the feature!

Cherry: I contemplated changing into a white T-shirt and jeans today actually, but um, I am shamelessly sat in my 'day' pyjamas. I've been so lazy these past two weeks! xo

Harriet: Everything is so dainty and lovely in Look Three, the items are all patiently waiting to be ordered in my ASOS basket but I know I should empty that badboy before I spend my rent money on more clothes :-P Aaah get yourself to a Topshop/H&M/clothing store of choice now ;) xx

  27. I REALLY love that first outfit! I must get a crocheted fringed vest like that one from H&M! Super cute.

  28. Love this W2W, I own way too many white t-shirts/vests and always find it tough to style it differently every time I wear one.
I'm in love with Look 3 though, the kimono is calling my name lol don't think I can put off buying on for much longer ^_^ xoxo

  29. I love look 1, it's just so laid-back but still looks like you're a little put together. Great idea doing the white tshirt, definitely something that I have but don't wear enough! I agree on having clothes a bit slouchy and loose, especially tshirts. xxx

Ria: Thanks honey! Aahh it's so beautiful isn't it?! I can imagine it looking so perfect for a night out, or even for a summer evening BBQ party. I might order it next week when I get paid, depending on my bank balance post-camera indulgence! xo

Hannah: Aw thanks hun (: I think the wedges and waistcoat pull everything together and make it work. xx
