From my calculations, it has been a whopping three weeks since my last Ways to Wear installment! I guess I've just been busy with all sorts of other things, primarily Uni work, which you'll be getting a sneak preview of in either tomorrow or Friday's post, and just easing away from posting every single day. The pressure is now on to deliver a worth-the-wait W2W post!

This week's featured Ways to Wear item is the sleeveless denim jacket. It's all feeling a tad samey same on here, considering my last featured item was the denim A-line skirt! Oh well, I'm a huge fan of these at the moment and am on the cusp of cutting up the sleeves of my own beloved cropped denim jacket. As with any item I like to use on here, there are some cheaper options, some more expensive options, and lots in other colours, fits and prints. For those a little arm-conscious, a three-quarter length sleeve would also work just as well!

Before you all make a sharp exit at the thought and sight of double denim, hear me out. A firm trend last Summer, and the one before that, double denim is the Marmite of fashion. Although I've always had it down in my metaphorical Fashion Hate list, I personally have begun to warm to the trend. Pair this pair of dark indigo/purple broderie anglaise trim shorts with a bleach wash denim jacket, and inject some texture with this lace back tee. The key to working double denim is to break up that tough texture with other garments, and a cropped denim jacket is perfect for this. I added a hot pink lip and 50's-esque headwrap, alluding to a modern pin-up look.

Now Look Two is by far my favourite this week! I had originally been visualising the sleeveless denim jacket with a 'perfect' maxi dress or jersey jumpsuit, but came across this maxi skirt while perusing the Topshop website. The skirt is the epitome of laidback Summer chic, and would be a great addition to any wardrobe! I think the strapping detailed cami would look sweet tucked in or left loose, either way, it creates a nice contrast to the lengthy material of the skirt. As the skirt is so long and perfectly simple, I wanted to add a pair of mottled print sunglasses (kudos on your sunglasses collection this season, New Look, you've outdone yourself and I'm in love!) and these beautiful ethnic detailed sandals. Perfect hippie chic, and I can see the likes of Gem, Morven and Sara in this look!

I don't want to add to the blogger/journo cliche and say that Look Three is a festival look. I'd imagine this look being perfectly at home either on a shopping date, the beach, a coffee shop haunt or a music fest though! Thought I'd include this because I'm positive that about 99% of the blogosphere now owns this playsuit from H&M (whether plain black, leopard print or patterned), deeming this a perfect Ways to Wear look if you don't want to splurge! Teamed with some long necklaces from my beloved Miss Selfridge to break up the block colour, and with another pair of moccasin inspired sandals.

Well that's me done for another week in the Ways to Wear camp! I've missed putting these together, and am currently feeling very inspired in my blogging! I think that's mainly down to having completed Uni work, and having no other distraction other than TV and food to block my way. I have a few garments in mind for next week's installment, so stay tuned for that. I'll be back soon with either an outfit post or a peek into my fashion editorial, depending on how lazy I'm feeling/if I'm called into work or not!

  2. I really love looks 2 and 3, not so keen on the double denim but I agree that it does look good... sometimes! Just not on me ;)

Those Zara sandals are to die for, but £50!? I could cry. :( They make the RI ones I want at £30 seem reasonable!

Looking forward to more of these posts, I've missed them! xx

I've been in love with my sleeveless denim jacket since I bought it last year and definitely don't wear it enough. It makes me channel my inner rocker, definitely going to take a few ideas from your post so I wear it more! xx

  7. I especially like the last look but am disappointed in myself slightly because you described it as a festival look lol.. I am not and will never be a festival goer. Never the less it's super cute and i'm also reassessing my opinion on double denim :P

Great post as ever my loveeeely! xxxx

  9. Lovely feature yet again Michelle :D I'm always wary of sleeveless denim jackets....I don't know why! I'm not particularly arm conscious, but I fear I'll look like a failed biker if I wear one. But with that playsuit in look 3 I'm very tempted, and would you believe i'm the 1% that doesn't own that playsuit...I need to get on that right away! xx

  10. I loooove the second and the third look, it´s totally something I would wear. I´ve been after that playsuit in leopard print and that gorgeous pink with little dots since I first saw it on the website - just gotta get my bum over to the UK asap because HMs here have a rather limited selection *sobs*

  24. Thank you so much Vicky, it means so much to hear that (: I always 'forget' about UO's shoe collection, it's getting really good as of late! x

I think my favourite has got to be Look Two as well Charlene. I'm yet to attempt double denim, might give it a whirl soon and see how divided the reactions are! Waa I know, am sure there is a cheaper alternative from ASOS or H&M actually, but I'm in love with the Zara ones (:

Ooh did you Charli?! So jealous, I'm in love with them but can't justify yet another new pair of sunglasses! x

Haha absolutely everyone and their cat has one Victoria! Except me and you obviously ;) Oh you shoulddd, I'm still debating whether cutting the arms off my denim jacket is a smart move or not! xx

Thank you Laura (: My favourite look is the second one too, the skirt and shoes are absolutely perfect! xxx

    Thanks Rachel! (: xo

Hahaha I'm not a festival gal myself either, much prefer a cosy night watching any acts that I like on TV in my dressing gown ;) I think you'd work double denim so well Abby! xxxx

    Thank you Grace!

Aw thanks Danni (: Haha 'failed biker', I think the key is to soften the look up with sweet, girly colours and loose-fit fabrics! Wishing you luck in finding the elusive playsuit hun ;) xo

Thank you Daniela! I really want the playsuit in the Aztec, graphic type print, but I haven't seen it yet! xx

Haha I'm glad I could be of assistance Emma ;) You know you love me...! xxxx

Thanks Michelle! The top is gorgeous, I love the lace panel on the back (:

I could do so someday! I'd love to become a personal and editorial fashion stylist, Klee! xxx

Thank you Rose and Fern ^____^ xo

It's so bargainous Jen, you should definitely scout around for one! I might be wrong, but I think I've seen some in F+F at Tesco too! Oh yes, absolutely, I hear a bright pink lip is very on trend in the beauty stakes this Summer? xx

Thank you Sian! I can totes see you in Look Two y'know ;) xx

Look Two is defz my favourite as well Aimee! Thanks lovely. x

Thank you Elise, I love the cami as well, such perfect detailing, although you'd get a pretty interesting tanline wearing that in the Summer :-P xx

It took about 2 hours to put everything together and write the words! It's, by far, my favourite post to write on my blog though! Aw thank you so much Daisy, it always means so much to hear nice feedback! xo

    Thanks Ichiban Nikooru!

Thank you Hannah ;D I really want to get to grips with double denim soon! Possibly with an understated Chambray top version though (: xx

Thanks Kate! Oh gosh, I can't believe you haven't got one, I can see you in Looks Two and Three from this ;) Very you! xx
