Afternoon my lovely ones! I trust you're all having a enjoyable Bank Holiday weekend and getting lots of rest/drink/food* in you? (*Delete as applicable!) I spent mine shopping for birthday goodies for my beautiful little sister, and having a catch-up with fellow bloggerina, Mandy. I'm so excited to give my sister her present, especially as I won't be seeing her on her actual birthday. I've picked a mishmash of little gifts for her but won't share exactly what, as I know she likes to stalk me and my blog quite often ;)

On our little shopping trip, I saw that Miss Selfridge have totally upped their game this season. Personally I find that Miss Selfridge can be a little bit hit-and-miss, because their pieces don't always suit my body shape and aren't my "typical style". I thought I'd share some of the pieces I'm currently coveting with you all, in case you often feel the same and don't tend to look in there.

uno. Mint and Taupe Placket Vest
I guess you've already worked out from reading my blog that I'm very much a basics and neutrals kind of girl. These placket button vests are a sweet variation of the standard vest tops, and are just different enough from the Topshop ones to stand out. The satin pocket detail is adorable, and I like the pastel tones of these, they'd look lovely with bright shorts/skirt, navahjo printed shorts, jeans or just a simple bodycon!

dos. Khaki Cupro Skirt w/ Gold Button Detailing
I wasn't too sure on this skirt when I saw it online last week to be honest. It looks quite unflattering and awkward but in real life, it is lovely! The draped pocket detailing is gorgeous and perfect for the Summer months, loosening up that tailored look. I think a khaki coloured skirt would be a nice addition to any wardrobe as well, slightly quirkier and sweeter than black or navy, and I'd hazard a guess that it would be a really smart investment for upcoming fashion seasons!

tres. Cable Ladder Tape Top
My friends have all been moaning at me to stop lusting after knitwear when we're fast approaching the Summer! I just can't help it though, I have a serious affinity for perfect knits. This cropped cable ladder top would be nice with cut-off shorts and a pair of sandals for Summer evenings. I'm a sucker for named colours as well, how adorable does 'Stone Mist' sound?! I think I'd also have to whack a long, feather emblazoned necklace on top of this for that ultimate Summer hippie chic look.

cuatro. White Love Print Tee
I saw this right at the front of the store today, which is what drew me in - well done on your product placement Miss Selfridge! I really love burnout tees, God knows why I love sheer things so much hahaha, I don't actually like to bare all! Again, this would be so nice to chuck on top of absolutely anything. Priced at £20, I think this is an absolute steal as well!

cinco. Lemon Embellished Dress
And now for something completely on the other end of the spectrum! I don't have any fancy parties or events to be attending, but if I did, I would snap this dress up in an instant. Described as Lemon, this is a lot more pastel - yet not too Easter egg-esque - in real life, and is just huge amounts of adorable personified. I'm sure I would also find a way to dress this down enough for everyday wear too, in typical me style! Just look at that flawless waist, shoulder and bodice embellishment!

  11. You're totally right about Miss Selfridge being hit and miss but over the past year they've upped their game big time; I've bought some beautiful vintage inspired items from there that are some of my personal favourites!

I love that dress! I remember they had a blue/greenish colour when it first appeared and also a white! It's a bit pricey though I must say.

  22. Those vests are so great!

I'm a firm believer that the English are the best dressed in the world. I'm from New Zealand so it's hard to imitate English style as a lot of those things aren't available here but God bless Asos and their international shipping :)

  27. I love what you have picked out, esp the love tee, vests and skirt. I love the whole burnout design at the mo and I have a few of the same types of tees from Topshop. I might have to venture to Miss Selfridge to see if I can find that cute tee to add to my wardrobe! The skirt looks like something you would wear and would easily go with what you already have. I look forward to seeing how you wear these pieces if you end up buying! x
