Although my style isn't ever a direct replica of another person's style, I am very inspired by a lot of people. One of my emerging inspirations is definitely Emma Watson, and not just from a huge Harry Potter fangirl point of view. Since wrapping her Harry Potter filming commitments, moving to America to study at Brown University and becoming the face of Lancome and earlier, Burberry Prorsum, I've been loving Emma's classic, feminine and preppy style.

A far cry from her haphazardly, self-styled outfits of her 9-year-old self, Emma now wears luxury designer garments with confidence and ease. I couldn't think of many (then 20-year-old) budding celebrities who could wear a Burberry trench coat so effortlessly well. Much as I loved Emma's wavy hair pre-pixie cut, it was the huge hair transformation and elfin crop that has placed Emma firmly on the Fashion Map.

I think Emma's style reminds me much of Clemence Poesy's, mixed with a hint of Alexa Chung, and the unmistakeable, preppy Hermione Granger look that Emma will quite possibly never shake off. I really admire her affinity for clean, simple lines and not being afraid to try new things. Emma also has a lovely knack for pairing particularly feminine pieces with masculine blazers, brogues and often a sweet hat, which has become her signature look.

  6. Her style is amazing :) Never was too fond of her hair though! But it is very chic & edgy, just doesn't suit her feminine soft features.

  11. I've always been a fan of Emma's style, I love that she went for such a dramatic change with the pixie cut once she'd finished Harry Potter and she always looks so classy, comfortable and chic. Love the outfit you've put together too x

  12. Oh, Emma! I used to find her dress sense absolutely appalling - and not in an obsessed jealous-HP-fan-who-desperately-wished-she-was-a-HP-actress way, haha!
I think she got a stylist a couple of years ago because her style shifted dramatically, almost overnight, from confused to very put together, indeed. She looks incredible now, all the colours she wears really complement her skin tone and amazing hair cut.
That first outfit sends my heart a flutter!

    Great post!

  24. I loved this post; you picked out some lovely photos of her. Is the studded mac the Burberry one? (Sorry for my lack of knowledge!) I love it, I also love the way that despite her short haircut she doesn't feel the need to wander around in floaty, floral dresses all the time; she can still pull off masculine tailoring and the preppy look because she's naturally so pretty and has such style.
