Although my style isn't ever a direct replica of another person's style, I am very inspired by a lot of people. One of my emerging inspirations is definitely Emma Watson, and not just from a huge Harry Potter fangirl point of view. Since wrapping her Harry Potter filming commitments, moving to America to study at Brown University and becoming the face of Lancome and earlier, Burberry Prorsum, I've been loving Emma's classic, feminine and preppy style.
A far cry from her haphazardly, self-styled outfits of her 9-year-old self, Emma now wears luxury designer garments with confidence and ease. I couldn't think of many (then 20-year-old) budding celebrities who could wear a Burberry trench coat so effortlessly well. Much as I loved Emma's wavy hair pre-pixie cut, it was the huge hair transformation and elfin crop that has placed Emma firmly on the Fashion Map.
I think Emma's style reminds me much of Clemence Poesy's, mixed with a hint of Alexa Chung, and the unmistakeable, preppy Hermione Granger look that Emma will quite possibly never shake off. I really admire her affinity for clean, simple lines and not being afraid to try new things. Emma also has a lovely knack for pairing particularly feminine pieces with masculine blazers, brogues and often a sweet hat, which has become her signature look.
