I'm going to be honest with you here, for the first time since about September, my bank account is enjoying being out of the red. It's been so stressful trying to manage my finances when each loan installment that is paid to me is still a few hundred short of my rent. Oh well, I've coped so far! I'm back in the black now (I think that's what they say!) and thought I'd indulge in some online browsing. I might be able to part ways with my money for just one of these pretties, I just can't decide which!

uno. Hand Crochet Flower Kimono @ Topshop
Although this knitted kimono is probably not to everyone's tastes, I'm absolutely in love with it and have been since I clicked on to the Topshop website. I spent an entire evening last week reading Rumi's blog entries (fashiontoast.com) back-to-back, and decided within minutes that I needed a slightly pretentious but perfect, oversized knit to wear through the Summer. I would probably wear this with everything in my wardrobe a little sundress and lovely sandals.

dos. Amper Canvas Bag @ One Language
Readers of my blog for Uni will probably have already read about this bag this week. I came across One Language at the weekend, and couldn't believe my luck when I saw so many beautiful canvas bags. The Amper includes a laptop pouch, zipped compartments and a custom, inspirational quote lining. The only problem is $110 is more than I can afford until at least graduation for me! You can read my full post here.

tres. Skull Charm @ Swarovski
I'm not much of a skull kind of girl in all honesty, in fact, I'm not a lover of any brash patterns or colours and statements on clothing. Alexander McQueen inspired pieces, however, I am totally game for! I saw Swarovski's new range of jewellery charms in-store yesterday when I popped to London with the Mamabear and sister, and fell in love with this. I think it'd make a lovely addition to the charm bracelet I got for my 18th birthday!

cuatro. Chloe Rose Drape Dress @ Yayer
I've been lusting after this dress for a good two or three weeks now; can it be mine now please?! Of all of the items featured today, this item is the one that has torn me the most. On one hand, it has the most lovely freeflow shape to it, yet on the other, I highly doubt I'd get any wears out of it. I can imagine it worn with the knitted kimono for some reason, and a sweet, messy topknot! Gahh, what's a girl to do?!

cinco. Cream Crochet Collar Swing Top @ Topshop
This is one of the 50/50 items on my list. It reminds me of nightwear in a way, but I can imagine it worn with navahjo hotpant shorts and little pixie boots for a different look, and even on top of a dress for that layered look. The little ribbon bow detail just completes the look for me: I often pin a black bow brooch on my peter pan collar pieces for something a little extra!

seis. Camel Chino Shorts @ Miss Selfridge
As soon as I saw these shorts on the Miss Selfridge website, I thought of Rose! These are absolutely gorgeous and would totally flatter anyone's legs, tanned or not!, over the Summer. I'm still very much into my neutrals, as you've probably noticed from my overall covet list. Camel tones are still lurking around, and remain to be one of the most versatile colours to have in your wardrobe.

I'm currently taking a break from more portfolio work to bring you this blog post today. Sorry I've been a bit quiet, I was ill on Wednesday night and yesterday so have been struggling to keep on top of everything. My deadlines begin again next Wednesday, and I'm starting to feel the strain, even though I've used today to get up to speed with all of my written work. Help me decide what to waste my pennies on while I go back to analysing the effects of different make-up looks on my fashion story? Oh, and a very happy Easter weekend to all you ladies

  1. It's such a nice feeling, you should definitely get something to reward you. I would go for the dress personally. It is just so pretty!!!

Concerning the uni work, that could be worse! I thought I'd do a BA in English and then a post grad in journalism since that's the way it's done in France and I didn't think about it when I moved to the UK. I have to write something on autobiography, diseases and death. THAT IS BAD! Haha!

Happy Easter weekend to you too!

  6. Oooh, I've been loving the amper bag since I first spotted it on Annabel of Blushing Ambition! I've since decided I could try and make my own canvas bag, since $110 is WAYYYY too much for a canvas bag, in my opinion, anyway.

I'd say definitely go for the top. It's adorable, classic and versatile, so you'd get your wear out of it!

  32. I love the bag, but it's definitely a bit too pricey for a canvas bag! Runner up would be the top though, it's quite cute and you could make it both casual and dressy.

    Good luck with the deadlines!
