Just thought I'd add my own little post in the mix of the Royal Wedding mania. I've been up since before 9am, watching the Royal festivities unfold and Kate walk down the aisle in her beautiful McQueen gown. I'm not much of a 'Royalist', so to speak, but I think it is in our nature at British citizens to be suitable interested and curious and proud of such an occasion: an occasion full of the stuff found in fairytales and one that over 2 billion people watched.

My flatmates and I decided to spend the morning watching the Royal Wedding coverage on BBC One, then we popped into the City Centre, where the Guildhall celebrations were long over. However, a great opportunity presented itself when we went to the 'Students' Street Party' in town, and it was such a great street party, with barbeques, cider and music. True, the majority of the guests were after an excuse to get their drink on, but it was an amazing atmosphere.

(Top, New Look;
Shorts, Originally George at Asda jeans and cut-off by me!
Tights, Primark;
Crochet kimono, Topshop;
Ring, Miss Selfridge;
Nails, Barry M 262 + 306.)

Thought I'd whack out my tribal print vest again today. It was surprisingly warm, and I actually changed out of this in favour of a three-quarter length top. Big mistake at the street party! I suppose this outfit is quite hippie chic, but I absolutely love the crochet kimono against this top, and it was one of the main reasons I wore it today. I wish I'd worn something red/navy in tribute to the Royal Wedding today, Kate looked so beautiful in her lace gown, and I thought her veil and train were also understatedly chic, the perfect amount of subtle detail.

I'm off out tonight for the Street Party after party at a few of the clubs in town. Not sure what to wear so I'm sure I'll be Tweeting you all in a plea for help later! How have you all spent the Royal Bank Holiday? Are you sick of the word 'Royal' and not particularly fussed? Or have you gone as far as waving your Union Jack around all day? I'm rather proud to be British today.
