Happy Wednesday girls and guys! (Do any guys read my blog? Leave a comment?!) Welcome to this week's Ways to Wear post. I skipped W2W last week, for a retro Wednesday Wants, and it all felt a bit alien to me, as I have no money to spend at all! I think I'll be sticking to these for now...

This week's installment features that typical-blogger button through, sleeveless shirt. I decided to finally feature this because the item in question shows no signs of leaving the high street anytime soon, and is the perfect casual-yet-smart piece. As with most of my previous featured items, there are cheaper alternatives to this, I've seen these in New Look with many sweet variations, H&M and some other stores probably also stock similar button through shirts. I decided to use a Topshop one in my looks, simply because their website is good for photos.

I surprisingly like, and would consider wearing, Look One, despite it being all the things I normally hate: colour, trousers, floral AND brogues?! I guess this look tries to encapsulate a girly and tailored take on that androgynous look that I love to hate. I absolutely love this rich pink colour, and thought it would look lovely paired with a navy tapered trouser. Tuck in and button to the top, then add this adorable leather, heart punchout belt to sweeten the look up. I dithered for ages when I saw these floral panel brogues: in theory, they shouldn't work, but they do, and look oh so nice with this outfit. I really think this look balances out androgynous in a cutesy, girly way.

Look Two is a perfect example of how the blogosphere influences and inspires my choices of clothing. The British summer is possibly the most unpredictable element known to man, therefore outfit choices in the said summer have to be made pretty wisely. I love the idea of wearing a button through shirt with a skirt, and popping a jumper over the top, a la Lily. The flirty, floaty shape of this skirt is so summery and perfect, yet unfortunately is something that may not always work in the summer. I'd pair this with a block coloured black button through: any other colour might look too fussy! Wear with a pale grey jumper and bring the collar out to tighten up the look. Keep the look necklace-free so the focus is placed on the skirt and collar bringing the look together. This is also a nice day-to-evening look, where you can swap the jumper for a silk scarf and some cute heels, pop a clutch on and meet friends for drinks!

Look Three is an ethnic inspired look, with a double layered collar and button through shirt look. I think layering collared shirts is a really unique and effortless look - I recently styled some garments with a doubled collar for my Uni portfolio. Wear the plain button through buttoned with the top and bottom buttons undone, then layer the snake print piece on top, completely unbuttoned. Pale denim is key to this look, otherwise it'll all look quite dark and boring. I chose two pieces of jewellery from the beautiful and ever so talented Ella's jewellery shop, which is so perfect for this look.

I hope you enjoyed this week's installment of Ways to Wear. I've had a few requests for upcoming posts, and I really hope I manage to do them justice! Keep sending your requests to me, either via email or Formspring, or even just Twitter, and I'll do my best to put some looks together for you. I'm off to get ready to see my beloved Taylor Swift in London tonight, I'm ridiculously excited and you can expect a fangirl-filled post tomorrow!

  18. This is one of those moments I wish I lived in the UK or even had the opportunity to shop there! You guys have amazing stores with amazing clothes there. I want to ask you, do you think chinos suit every body type? I mean, for someone with a bit thicker legs and wider hips, wouldn't they just accent them even more? I hope this is not a weird question, I've been thinking about this for a while and when I saw those navy chinos on the first look I thought I'd ask! :D
