Hello lovely ladies! This week's item is a pair of those popular-but-pesky-to-find peg leg trousers, tailored hareems, chinos... You know the type. Abby requested this garment last week, so I decided to get this done ASAP for her! While these are ridiculously popular at the moment, the main issue with peg legs is choice of footwear, which I have attempted to tackle in this week's Ways to Wear installment.

The pair I have featured in my looks is the Rust Buckle Chino from Miss Selfridge, but again, there are SO many on the high street - I particularly want to try a pair of those £12 ones in Primark! For those who don't quite fancy a pair of tailored trousers, there are plenty of hareem ones out there at the moment, which won't make you look pyjama-esque too.

Get the look! 1, 2, 3, 4.

I'm absolutely obsessed with the floral print shirt featured in Look One. I've been tempted to buy a sleeveless buttonthrough top from Topshop since they came into stores in December, but am so glad I resisted, because this will be much more worth it! The buttons and sweet collar keep the outfit refined and chic, yet the girly print dresses it right down. I've added a Casio watch, in keeping with a vintage, summery feel, and these beyond-adorable rose studs from Dolly Bow Bow. For footwear, I popped a pair of these super affordable plaited sandals, which I'm sure almost everyone owns! I don't tend to feature bags in these W2W posts, which is a travesty considering my handbag addiction - this beautiful red satchel makes the outfit pop and keeps the look summery and laidback.

Get the look! 1, 2, 3, 4.

Look Two is my attempt to mix a cutesy look with an edge. Bralets are one of my many fashion obsessions at the moment, but they're quite hard to style and feel comfortable in, which is why I've added this sheer batwing blouse into the mix! The tones of the diamond print match perfectly with the trousers, yet the blouse adds a respectable touch to the outfit, which would be worn open. I think wedged shoes/boots are often the key to pulling off the peg leg trouser look, particularly if you are short! Finish off with this sweet Doll's House necklace from Accessorize.

Get the look! 1, 3, 4, 5.

Look Three is an Asian-infused look in my opinion, it's very much my sort of outfit if I were to ever go near a pair of trousers! A scallop edged vest is nice and simple but not too plain, tucked into a pair of peg legs. I bought this blousette dress last week and can imagine it looking gorgeous worn unbuttoned over this outfit, and cinched in with a belt. Keep the blousette quite open, to expose the waistband of your trousers for an instantly unique and chic look. I've never seen anything quite as adorable as this Scotty Dog clasp belt from Topshop to add some quirkiness to the outfit, and as this look was requested by Abby, I couldn't not include a giraffe piece somewhere!

I'm really enjoying reading the feedback from this feature, hopefully it's helping some of you to get more wears out of items in your wardrobe too! If you have a specific request, you can always email me directly, or ask anonymously via Formspring. This week's feature was such a challenge! I'll be back next Wednesday to answer Bee's holiday wardrobe request, for her imminent holiday to Corfu! ;)

  6. I've got one pair of peg legged trousers in navy and I'd love to wear them more but the weather is a bit on the dodgy side at the moment. The problem I have is sometimes I feel as if I look too masculine in them. So I always try to have a really, girly top to go with them. The shoes I opted for are loafers usually!

You've gave me some ideas to use with them, esp the bracelet! Thank you

    Katie. x

  15. Thank you Rose! I saw a girl from my course wear them last week and I'm literally obsessed! I'm determined to find a nice pair of tapered trousers within the next few weeks! I think darker tones are more flattering if you're concerned! (:

You're welcome Charlotte! Hope this has helped you and that you manage to wear them soon! xo

Thanks Alex! I need to buy a sleeveless blouse, they're so cute! x

Thank you Elise! I personally think a stone, rust or navy colour are really suited to most body shapes. Think I might line up a body shape variation of this feature soon! x

    Aw thanks Sophie (:

Oh I love navy tapered trousers, ever so slightly jealous, KatieI saw a pair in Miss Selfridge that I desperately wanted, but they never seem to have them in Petite ): Oh I'd imagine loafers would look cute with these, or brogues actually haha! x

Thank you Krissy! Hope you manage to find a pair soon ^____^

Haha I know how you feel Chloe, I haven't worn trousers in forever, discounting the trousers I wear for work ;) I do want to explore into wearing some though!

Mm, Looks One and Two are my favourites! Aw I'm glad this post has helped you Danni! x

    Thanks Nicola!

I think so too Kate, they're a match made in heaven in my opinion! xo

Ooh I'm going to pop over and have a read of that post then Amy! Really want a pair (:

Thanks Kayl, I'd love a mini Casio, I'm not a watch-wearer though haha!

  17. I love these 'ways to wear' that you do :) you should be a stylist! You pick such good outfits, way better than the ones you see in magazines! xx

  18. You've made three really lovely outfits here and all so different! I think my favourite is the second look, but I'd probably get black or navy peg legs because that camel colour really doesn't suit me I don't think.

Such a good feature, keep it up :)!

i like the first outfit the most and MAY just MAY be tempted to try the trousers on, the other types (the ones you see with a lower erm, crotch area -awkward) make me look like i have a nappy! so thank you for this :) x

    It's very "you" Helen! x

  27. hi! i'm a new follower, love your blog, especially this post. i bought a pair of these some 3 months ago and have been racking my brain as to what shoes to wear with them (don't ya think it's hardest to pair shoes with trousers?) i'm going to hold out another month and don my sandals as look 1 is my fave :)

  31. This post has been really helpful! Footwear is what has been putting me off buying a pair of peg leg trousers but I might go for it now!:) x

  32. Thank Augusta! (:

Hey Vix, thank you for following and the sweet comment! Mm I found it hardest to find appropriate shoes to pair with the looks. All of the big fashion bloggers pair them with heels and sky-high wedges which isn't realistic at all! I'm glad you enjoyed the post! Loafers or brogues would also look lovely with peg leg trousers if you can't wait that long! x

Thanks Sian (: I want to venture and buy the Primark ones, because I'm a shorts & skirts gal too, therefore don't want to spend a lot! Choosing footwear was the hardest part of this week's feature! xx

Aw thank you Steph! I'm glad this has helped you a bit! xo

Eeep thanks Heather, I'm not a genius at all though haha! xx

I'm glad it has helped you out Charlene! Congrats on winning my giveaway too sweet, going to give you a mention in today's post, like an announcing the winner type thingy! x

  38. You angel. This is brilliant and a mahoooosive help as I think most will agree! These trousers are a bit of a nightmare to dress, footwear especially. And I am NOT a fan of pumps so the boots, wedges and flip flops are great! Thank you miss and the giraffe.. awesome ;) I actually have that necklace too! ;) You know me so well <3 xx
