So, hands up if you've been an awful blogger recently... I've been so absent from Daisybutter over the past week, eep. I hadn't planned to leave it so long between posts either, I've just been exhausted all the time, and haven't had any time over the weekend to post anything substantial due to being back at work ;) I'll have to apologise again in advance, because I'm going to be at a wedding tomorrow, and probably won't get the chance to post. Guh, life without blogging is like a Starbucks frappuchino without extra whipped cream!

(Pink scallop edged dress, Topshop;
Black bow belt, from the Blair Waldorf dress - Gossip Girl for Miss Selfridge collection;
Round toe court heels, Red Herring at Debenhams.)

As I said, tomorrow is my friend's wedding day. I always find weddings a difficult occasion to dress for, particularly Chinese ones because you never know how formal the other guests will go! At the moment, I'm dithering between this dress, and my Blair Waldorf one (the dress is towards the end of the post!). I bought this pink, scallop edged dress for our college Summer Ball, two years ago, and haven't yet had the chance to wear it again. In theory, it shouldn't work, but I love love it, and scallop edge detailing is nice and on-trend at the moment! I love the simplicity of the dress too: it means I can push the boat out with restyling and accessorising it. Blaaaa, someone help me choose?!

I'm so beyond excited and glad to be home right now. Uni was getting too much, and it's so good to have a bath and my pretty bedroom to retreat to! I'm thinking of filming a bedroom tour soon, but I'm not really sure, it would definitely require me unpacking my suitcase and giving my room a tidy though! Despite me only getting home late on Saturday afternoon (getting through London on Saturday was an epic mission in itself!), I've already managed to get 12 hours of work under my belt! I'll probably be at work for a lot of the Easter break - roll on payday and a Topshop spree! ;)

Right, that is me over and out! Hope you've all had a lovely start to the week!PS. How lovely is it that, at the time of writing, it's 5:16pm and still bright?!

  3. this dress is such a perfect outfit for a spring wedding, and you're right! scallop is ever so on trend! i agree with krissy that a lighter coloured belt, to match your shoes, would suit a little better, but you look adorable!

  11. I feel so out of the loop because I've barely had the time to read blogs and comment, let alone write my own! Awh thanks sweet, mm a lighter belt would definitely be better, I'm toying with the idea of not wearing one at all and going for a long necklace? Hope you're well Krissy! xo

Aw thank you Phoebe. So difficult trying to decide on something suitable for a wedding! xx

Thanks Kat! I might not wear a belt at all, it seems to distract from the scallop detail (: xo

Thank you Hayley! Eep thanks sweet, not looking forward to having all the kids in once school breaks up though, always such a nightmare when there are kids at the restaurant! x

I love the colour too! Was a bit pink but I really like it (: Thanks Jade! x

Awh thank you Rose! Gonna curl my hair later so I have loose waves for tomoz ;) Thanks sweet, gonna try and Tweet a bit inbetween the reception and dinner banquet haha, so out of the loop with everything at the moment! xxx

I feel awful about it Jasmin! I've had to do short replies to emails, comments and stuff and I feel really disconnected from everyone at the moment. Thank you lovely, I hope you're well! xo

    Thanks 25FLONDON! (:

Thank you Jade! I literally love this dress to pieces, excited to give it another well deserved outing! x

  12. Lurrvee the dress. Wish i could get it for myself! Might search ebay :P.
I love the coral colour. Definitely puts you in the mood for spring! x

  13. I think you look absolutely gorgeous! You should definitely wear this dress - with wavy hair and a cute clutch it is perfect for a wedding. I've been invited to two weddings this year so far and I always find it really difficult to strike a balance between 'not wedding-y enough' and 'too formal' - I think this is the perfect dress for a wedding however, and I really like the bow belt.
    Have a great day!

  16. *raises hand slowly in shame* too many essays and as soon as I log on to blogger, my work goes down the loo, haha. Your photos are so bright and summery! Made me smile a lot! I like the idea of a longer necklace instead of a belt :) xxx

  17. I do love these summer evenings- it's 18:40 here atm and still light outside...yay!
I love this dress too m'dear- i'm afraid i'm not sure which one is your blair waldorf one, but the pastel colour and pretty seams on this one make it seem so perfect for a spring wedding. Either way i hope you have a lovely time! x

    Thanks Susanne!

Aw thanks Anna! Yeah, eBay is a good option, it's been ages since I bought it haha. xo

Thanks Rosie! I'm tackling the hair later, gonna curl it and leave it overnight so the curls drop out (: Mm me too, my other dress isn't very 'me' and feels too formal for a wedding where I'm just a guest haha. Thanks lovely, hope you are well! xxx

Thank you Wei-Han (: I love the scallop trend, I'm DIY-ing some denim scallop shorts later tonight I think! Wish me luck haha ;) xx

    Thanks Hannah! xo

Oh I know the feeling Paula-Ellen! I'm taking a mini break from Uni work at the moment, but I'll be resuming the work from Thursday onwards blaaa! Thanks sweet, the photos were a bit over-exposed but then my camera ran out of battery haha, such a failure to bloggerkind :P xxx

Me too! Quarter past seven and we are in the light, Danni ;) Thanks sweet! Oh, my bad, I didn't link to the photo hahaha, I'll probs show that in another post if the occasion arises! Thank you lovely, hope you're well! x

Aw I love weddings, I went to my cousin's last summer and sobbed my heart out haha! Totally 'that' overemotional guest ;) Fingers crossed for you Sarah! x

    Thanks Elise! x

    Thanks Lily (: x

    Aw thank you Sophie! xx

Thanks Beth! Was a bit worried that it'd be too pink, but the general consensus seems to be that it's a nice colour for a Spring wedding! x

I only just found this blog the other day (I may be interning for Eyeko so when i was doing a bit of research I came across your blog...any advice would be really appreciated lol)
Also, I know what you mean about having so much to do! I really hate this time of year...faaaaaar too many deadlines.
Anyway, just wanted to say that I really love your style (writing and clothes-wise), and that dress is to die for...I'm slightly tempted to go on a hunt for it ha. Come on loan day-I need to hit Topshop!
    xo

  38. Thank you Emma! I was pleasantly surprised by the fit, Topshop dresses always fall too long on me! Also shows that I've not grown at all since I was 17. Fml! I shall attempt to film one on my brother's swanky HD camera in the week, I just want an excuse to use the camera ;) xo

Aw thank you Helen! I much prefer this one at the moment (:

Thank you Genny, you are too lovely! <3

Oh gosh, I'm a bit addicted to blogging, I might take a break at some point to step away from the Internet overall! Thank you Sanna! x

Owh thanks Lily (: I love scallop detailing at the moment! xo

Thank you Jess! Haha eep, I'm probs gonna go with the pink one, as I wore the Blair dress to the last wedding I went to! x

Thank you Demi! Shall I email you about the Eyeko internship? (: I really enjoyed my time at Eyeko and might apply to go back in the summer. Mm me too, so much stress haha! xxx

  44. Gorgeous dress :) I'd say that was a good pick, it's not OTT wedding, so hopefully won't be too formal, but I'd say dressy enough for a wedding. I hope you have a lovely time xx
