I'm experiencing severe writer's block at the moment, so excuse the slightly lacklustre post! It's so lovely and sunny in Southampton today, yet I've holed myself up in my room for another Saturday of feature writing for Uni. Luckily this week's assignment only stipulates a 1000-word feature to be aimed at a contract magazine of our choice as opposed to a piece about sports, which, needless to say, is totally not my forte!

(Minnie Mouse vest top, New Look;
Skirt, Zara;
Necklace, Swarovski;
Double finger ring, Accessorize;
Pale legs, The product of six months of religious tights adorning.)

I don't think I'm ever going to get tired of wearing this skirt from Zara. It's the perfect nod to the 50's trend at the moment, and you don't "need" a body with curves in all the right places, as you would for a full-skirted, fitted dress . (Note: I don't have one :P Curves or dress!) I've been wearing this skirt in a hundred different ways recently, and it would even look cute with a shirt for job interviews etc. Also, hello bare legs for the first time in months! I'm so pale it makes me cringe a bit, but it wasn't even cold when I popped out to buy a few bits and bobs this morning!

I've had this Minnie Mouse vest top for about two or three years now, and again, I wear it with everything - leggings, bodycon skirts, denim shorts, tailored cupro shorts, jeans... The list just goes on forever! Tops with cartoon characters on are a bit hit-and-miss overall, in my opinion, they can easily make you look like a 10-year-old child, yet can also look cute when paired unexpectedly with other garments. How would you style this vest?

In a last ditch attempt to overcome writer's block, I actually Google'd the Top 10 tips for sorting the problemo out. I love 'meditate' and 'flirt' the most hahaha, I can't imagine either of those would help me much! I've realised (sadly) that coffee is not the key, I can feel it dissolving my brain cells by each sip! Blah. At least I've decided to write this week's feature about beauty trends for the spring/summer so I won't be bored mindless once I post this and resume work! Hope you're having lovely, sunny Saturdays!

  3. Love that Minnie Mouse top! It's so cute and I'm sure was great for today's amazing weather. It's good to hear that the sun didn't only show its face here in the Midlands!

    Haha, I can't imagine how much flirting could help someone with writer's block, but if you ever try it, you'll have to let us know how effective it is!

    Thank you Elodie! There are some seriously weird websites out there: another piece of advice told me to write some poetry. If I have writer's block, I'm sure I can't stretch to writing a poem hahaha! ;) xx

    Thanks Michelle! Oh I'm so glad it's sunny today, and I've finally written my feature now. Gonna give the writer's block tips a run in time for my next one though hahaha! Good ol' Google and its' weird answers to everything! xx

    Thanks Rebecca! Hope you're well, I'm glad you like my blog (: x

    Ooh I liked the red version too, but I'm so wary of bright colours washing me out a bit. Oh me too Beth, I'm 20-going-on-5! ;) xxx

    Eee thanks Claire! I love Minnie Mouse haha! x

  9. Cutie patootie! I don't know if I'd be able to pull that top of myself, but I just ordered myself a variant of a Hello Kitty top so we shall see. Maybe I'll channel my inner Michelle Chai!

    Writing about sports sounds like torture. And boring. :/

  10. The skirt really is perfect! The whole outfit is so cute! And so are you wearing it :)

  11. N'awh thanks Alyse. I don't actually know where my Hello Kitty top went, I think my sister permanently borrowed/stole it from me haha! I think cartoon tops look sweet with more typically grown-up pieces! And a nice scarf to finish it off (: Blaaa, my sports feature was painful to write, I didn't even understand the sports jargon I used :P

    Thank you Meg! Lovelove your current blog layout and latest post (:
