In light of today's devastating news about the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, I wanted to spread a little happiness this Friday on my blog, with '5 Things...' that have made me smile this week. I know that a few of us have a lot on our plates at the moment, and spending 300 words talking about my new favourite dress seems a bit trivial and ridiculous right now. My thoughts are with those in Japan, and anyone directly or indirectly affected by this morning's events - the natural disasters at the moment are just terrifying.

1. My 'Madhouse' Family ♥

Phonecalls and chats with my family (Dad wandering around the house at 2am, watching YT videos, Mum casually baking cakes at stupid o'clock, my brother taping his car back together, Granny phoning me from our new car's in-car phone system, my sister and our many-hour-long chats) have brightened up my week <3

2. Being with Friends

My second family while I'm at Uni! There's never a dull moment when the girls are around to be honest (:

3. My Selective DVD collection

I brought these along with me to Uni (the other Hills boxsets are in the living room) and erm, I spend my life rewatching these. I never get bored of a bit of Ronald Weasley and Chuck Bass! Best enjoyed in a room lit by fairylights and with a mug of coffee.

4. Soap & Glory's 'The Breakfast Scrub'

Big thanks to Bee who initially got me looking into this product! Smells so lovely and smoothed my skin like no other product last night. A smidgen of pampering was key after a long and stressful day (:

5. Music Packed with Memories

My brother bought me new Sennheiser Enhanced Bass earphones for my birthday, which led me to downloading music that I haven't listened to in years. I've moved on from Cpop now, but waaaa, so many memories! What are your favourite songs that bring back memories?

Hope you're all well girls, keep smiling: the weekend is only a mere few hours away (if you're reading this as I post)! I'm off to write some features and stress over my third year options and dissertation a bit more. Eeep.

  3. Sweet post! My prayers go out to the people of Japan and other countries that they're predicting that will be affected also. Sometimes my happiest moments is just a lazy day in with lots of feel good movies to watch :)

  10. Thanks for this post, it made me smile and reminded me to keep in mind the things that have made me happy, as my week's been a little crappy. But it all feels so trivial complaining about my little problems in light of the events in Japan. Thanks for reminding me that it's OK to watch back to back eps of oh-so-intellectual shows like The Hills too! xxx
