Afternoon chicas! Hope you are all well and had lovely, relaxing/fun weekends! I believe I spent mine watching a lot of DVDs, eating a lot of chocolate and making a trip to the cinema. Just wanted to a quick sorry for being so slack with outfit posts recently: I haven't bought any new clothes recently, and I have so much work to be getting on with, that snapping photos of my clothes and tired self is more often than not out of the question! However, I had a day off today and popped to town to buy some garments to style some looks for an upcoming shoot.

(Knitted lace dress, Pussycat London at New Look;
Black high waisted shorts, River Island;
Key necklace, Forever 21 - thanks Mandy!
Compass necklace, Handmade by yours truly! ;)
Rings, Topshop.)

I've got a bit of a thing for tucking dresses, tunics and generally items that are meant to be left alone, into shorts and skirts recently. I think it's a really sweet and easy way to update a dress, especially if it's something you wear a lot, which I definitely have done! I'm really into wearing shorts and skirts this season, they're so versatile, cannot wait to get back to working so I can add to my wardrobe once again! I thought the outfit looks pretty bland in all honesty, despite the lace dress featuring a gorgeous pointelle knit pattern, so once again, I whacked on the accessories. I'm currently debating whether or not to sell my handmade jewellery over the summer? Don't want to feel like I'm jumping on the bandwagon, but my Mumma seems to think it's a good idea! I've been busy designing other items to be sold as well, so hopefully all goes to plan!

Had lunch with Leanne, one of the course girls today! We've got a crazy obsession with Pret at the moment, where I had a Wiltshire ham and cheese baguette. So so good, I could happily live off those forever. I also had a snoop in Topshop again, following my Styling shopping spree. I seriously need the paperbag waist skirt in my life! Also tried on a pair of those pesky tapered trousers to no avail - these were from their Petite range and are still too long for me! Blahhh.

Tonight I'm off to a friend's house and then out for her birthday, so I probs won't be around much. I'm seriously behind in blog reading and commenting at the moment and I feel totally guilty! Less than two weeks to go until I'm home for Easter though eee! Hope you've all had a lovely start to the week (:

  4. I love that topshop top you're wearing in the fitting room pictures. I have it in navy and a burnt red colour. Love the fit so much! It's a good idea to wear dresses as a top too, i've never really tried it!

  15. Loving the trousers on you, if they're still coming up a bit long, what about rolling them up, or just taking them up with a blind hem? Be a shame to forgo them :)

  19. Oh Vic, ya gonna make me bankrupt! They're so nice, I might buy 'em and get nifty with my beloved sewing machine ya know. <3

Aw thanks Heather! My Mum thinks its a nice little idea, especially with the other bits I have lined up to sell, just need to find the time to fit it into my schedule now. Thanks lovely, going to root around for a cheaper pair but they're so gorgeous! xxx

Thank you Hayley! The skirt is gorgeous, it wouldn't photograph properly in those craply-lit changing rooms though!

The one I'm wearing was from New Look, I'd literally just bought it for my Styling shoot ;) I really want the floral design version from Topshop though (: Thanks Jenny! xo

    Thank you Steph!

Thanks Jasmin! I'm probs going to end up buying them and taking them up to be honest! If Petite is too long, I've got no hope really :p x

Me too Ella, they're so flattering! xxx

Thank you Connie, I literally need it in my wardrobe aha! xx

Aw thank you Courtney (: I'm so blonde sometimes... I could easily just take them hahaha, so so tempted to buy them! xx

    Thanks Lily! x

Thank you Stefany! I'm not a fan of bold colours really, but the new colour block trend and all that keeps tempting me. Aw thanks lovely, good luck with yours too, you seem to have a lot on at the moment! xxx

Ee thank you Michelle (: Haha I like to mix and match with my wardrobe! Oh me too, it was lovely and warm here today though, totally warranted a shorts-outfit. xx

Aw thanks for the encouragement Alex <3 I think I'll start selling in the summer when I can focus on it properly. xxx

Oh gosh, I think we need a Petite Petite section :p I'm quite nifty with a sewing machine or hand-sewing so I might bite the bullet and buy them, then take them up myself, so they'll be "just right" for me! xxx

Thanks Chloe (: I think I will be doing just that! These are the first pair of trousers that I've absolutely fallen in love with! x

    N'awh thanks Sarah!

Lololol, the second option is seeming more and more likely at the moment Klee! x

    Thanks Beth!

  20. 3/14 = HAPPY PI DAY! You look fabulous in all of these outfits. I especially love the trousers in the last photo. They suit you perfectly! And I think you should definitely sell your handmade jewelry! That would be fabulous to have my own little piece of Michelle! That sounded creepy... I didn't mean for it too! Haha. Hope you have a great day.

  21. I have the topshop skirt, it's gorgeous but mine is from the tall range because unfortunately the regular one is like a mini skirt on me! There or perils of being tall too haha!

  22. you look great in all these pictures, i really love that skirt!
you may have already seen them but i got a pair of darker brown trousers in that style from primark - i'm 5"1 and they're not too long at all on me! they had other colours too x

    ReplyDelete
  23. The paper bag skirt and the trousers look fab! The colour really suits you.
I know exactly what you mean about them being too long, I'm about 5"3 and always need to hem trousers and dresses up!
I find the petite section in Miss Selfridge is often quite good for lengths so they might be worth a try? Once you have got some pennies when you start work of course, alas, Miss Selfridge can be a bit expensive at times. :( xx

  24. If you wanna sell jewelery go for it! I'd buy it!
I love all the tapered trousers too but I have such issues with Petite sections in shops (5" tall woop!)
Was that the TopShop in Southampton you were shopping at btw?

  28. I think you just get more adorable by the blogpost Michelle! I don't normally like tapered trousers but you pull them off so well, shame they're too long :( xxx

  29. The paperbag skirt looks so lovely on you! and I think it's a great idea to tuck dresses into shorts, it completely changes the look! Will definitely have to start doing this soon :) xoxo

  32. Those trousers look AMAZING on you, pity they're too long. :( I'm also loving the skirt and actually, I really like the top too although it's probably not something I'd think to try on! xx

    ReplyDelete
  33. ooh definitely sell you're stuff! :) the trousers and skirt with that top look great on you; i would definitely go get them! x

  36. that bottom outfit it genious! actually look like it could be in vogue or something! love it love it love x

  37. I love those trousers! I understand your issue with the length though, I'm pretty short and I've got little legs so trousers are always too long for me, so anything other than skinny jeans are out of the question :(

  38. looking lovely as per! I think it's a great idea to make your own jewellery, I'm thinking of doing it myself once I finish uni and have the time :)

  41. Haha I've never referred to it as Pi-day before! Gonna remember that for next year ;) Thank you Aimee, I'm glad I posted them on here now as the general consensus seems to be that they do actually suit me. Aw thanks sweet, will probs get the shop up and running once I'm done with second year! xx

Oh Stacey, we're definitely complete opposites! The one I tried on was from the Petite range, I'm so ridiculously short :p xx

    Thank you Anna (:

Aw thanks Laura! I'm too in love with the skirt aha. Oh yeah I think I did see that on your blog! I'm probs going to nicely ask the 'rents if they fancy buying me a pair, and then I'll probably take them up myself! x

Thanks Laura! <3 Oh that's a v. good point actually, I find their jeans fit me well in Miss Selfridge so I think that's a good plan! Cannot wait to get working again to get the pennies back in (: Then fresh outfit posts can finally resume on my blog ;) xx

Aah thanks Ria ;) I'm going to discuss it properly with the mother, seeing as she runs her own business, and it'll probably be up & running over the summer! Ugh me too! And yep, the Southampton branch (: xxx

Emma, you do NOT have chunky legs! I definitely need to buy wedges to pull off the trouser look aha, being stupidly short is the bane of my life! xx

    N'awh thank you Jessika!

Waaa I do not! You're too lovely Fern! <3

Hahaha! I'm tempted to just take the plunge and buy them, then hem them myself Emily, looks like the best option for me and my uber short self right now! xxx

    Thanks Katie! (: xxx

Aw thank you Danni! Haha yeah, they literally went right the way to my feet, probs not the right look for tapered trousers! x

    Thank you Julie! x

Thanks Charlene! The top was just something I picked up for my Uni photoshoot, but I couldn't snap photos without a top on ;) I hardly ever wear bright colours, so it makes a nice change in these photos! xx

Aw thanks Hannah <3 I might have to persuade the mamabear to buy them for me! x

Alana, I totally needed you to come with me on that shopping trip. I fail at making decisions ): Thank yaaaa bubba! xxx

    Thank you Helen (: x

Eeep thanks Morven, you absolute sweetheart! Hope you're well! xxx

I know the feeling Emily! My skinny jeans are a tiny bit too short for me at the moment, which I'm hoping was me growing ever so slightly as opposed to shrinking in the wash (which is probs the reality!) I'm going to have a hunt around for a shorter length, or just hem them myself! xxx

Thank you Emma! My jewellery taste is quite 'weird' and eclectic according to my friends, and I've got quite a few pieces made already, so I definitely want to pursue it! x

    Thanks Suzin <3

    Thank you Miranda! x
