I was in two minds about posting a Wednesday Wants today. I'm finally all unpacked, my new fairy lights have been set up around my bed and Audrey Hepburn is sitting on my wall (in calendar form!)! As you know, the VAT has increased in the UK, as of yesterday - the 4th of January - so I'm hesitant to go out and buy on my minimal budget as it, let alone with increased prices! Nevertheless, I hate to be one to disappoint, and my week just doesn't feel "right" if I don't post Wednesday's feature!

I removed Urban Outfitters' from my bookmarks bar in about September, to stop myself from going on there and ordering on the spur-of-the-moment! But today I allowed myself to pop on and have a browse of what they had on offer for the new fashion season, as I always seem to prefer UO's spring/summer offerings.

Something I am always drawn to at UO is their range of T-shirts: although I'm not much of a T-shirt person, Urban Outfitters is the one exception I will make! I guess I love their simple graphic prints, amazing loose, yet flattering fit and how versatile they are. I particularly like the M jersey logo shirt; it makes for a great nod to the varsity trend at the moment, as I know a lot of people commented on my post about them, mentioning that they weren't wearable for everyone! These have all been popped onto my 'I wish' list!

Another item that I've featured are these wedge shoes/boots. I've been after a pair of low, wearable wedges for a while, as I'd love the extra height, and I haven't bought a new pair of shoes in ages! I know that these are going to be a love/hate item, but I'm getting so tempted by these with the lace-up detail aha (: What do you think?

Of course, a Wednesday Wants would not be complete without a random little addition... I thought about sticking completely to UO, but truth be told, I'm still looking at finishing off my MAC quad palette! I'm currently most drawn to 'Romp' and 'Sable', but these seem like quite generic colours... What are you favourite MAC shadows? What would you recommend me to buy to add to Brule and Expensive Pink?

  1. For MAC eyeshdaow I recommend retrospect (amazing changed) or woodwinked (bronzey gold); they are two of my must have colors! Sable looks really nice as well. :) Hope this helped.

  12. Chic Geek: Thank you for the recommendations! I really like the look of Retrospect, and was considering Woodwinked for a long time, but it's quite similar to one of my Urban Decay shadows aha (:

Milly: They're so lovely and simple, but with a nice edge! I might write a DIY tutorial on this, they're probably easy enough to recreate for a fraction of the price!

Sarah: SO gorgeous right?! I'm very tempted to splurge (somehow!) on it for my birthday? A gal needs a pretty dress for birthday-esque occasions after all! And I think I have a code for UO hidden in the depths of my diary!

Dan: Aah really? Think that will be my next purchase, I'm always a little uncertain with darker colours to be honest!

Emma Jade: So pretty :3 And on sale too! Oh gosh really? THANK YOU <3 ... for letting me know! I would have been heartbroken if I ordered them and they murdered my feet aha! (:

An Bhean Og: Ooh I haven't heard much about Handwritten, it looks so gorgeous! I don't own enough matte shadows at all (:

ScienceGeek: It's so sweet! I want to buy it and wear it on Valentine's Day haha! Cheeesefest!

Hannah: I know right! Eee thank you for the recommendation, popped that in my basket for a future purchase <3

Helen: I'm a bit iffy with them, I'm v fussy!

Elise: They're absolutely adorable! Trying to find a cheaper alternative though because I always fall out of love with shoes unfortunately ):

RRRonRoute37: Haha, especially now the prices have gone up </3 *sob*

  13. i much prefer satin taupe over sable, sable seems a bit red on me! all that glitters is a really nice daytime colour and patina isn't too heavy a brown, nice on ze lid!

i never shop at urban outfitters but i love their little accessory/homeware section so much :)

  14. Romp looks like a gorgeous colour! You should invest in that me thinks :) Also, I loveee the 'M'shirt! I saw one like that but with an 'F' on it in town, i was tempted but decided not to! Fern xxx

  15. Emma: Ooh really? I think I might quite like the reddish tones of Sable, its quite a unique colour... Then again, absolutely everyone raves about Satin Taupe so it must be worth it... Blimmin' 'eck this is difficult! OH me too, their homeware is my favourite, I do over-feature it on my bloggy though aha (:

Fern: It's beautiful! I love shimmer aha, will look nice paired with a lot of other colours too. Oh Fern, you should totally have bought it! Although it looks easy enough to replicate in some sort of DIY form... which I'm currently looking into! :D

  17. Ohh UO... I used to check it so much too. The prices now are kind of inline with Topshop, since Topshop has gone up, so I don't feel *as* bad buying stuff from there. Currently drooling over a lovely yellow collared dress from there!

  22. I don't know how u do it Michelle, u must av such self-restrain. If I did a feature on things I wanted every week I am pretty sure I would end up buying just about everything with all the wonderful student non-money I have!
I would say if u buy one thing get the shoes - gorgeous! XxxX

  25. I have Mac Solar bits in Impassioned and it is lovely. Loving the UO stuff, it's my fave shop so I would, so expensive though eh. I really can't wait for S/S, I hate the lull between Christmas and spring :( xx

  26. Sarah: It's so pretty, I might buy it for my birthday, but the cream colour probably wouldn't last long in a bar/club to be honest!

Helen: I think UO is crazily overpriced for the most part! I'm still relatively willing to part with my money for Topshop aha, oops!

Alyssa, Holly, Ellio100: Me tooo (:

Kerry: I know right?! I hardly have anything left over from my loan after rent goes out, so self-restraint is muchly required!

Belle: Haha! Yeah I think wedges are an iffy one, some look lovely and most look awful! I've spied a beautiful pair in the Miss Selfridge sale though which I'm holding out for (:

    Courtney: Thank you! (:

Gem: Ooo I shall have a look at that! My palette and first few shadows arrived today eee (: Ugh it was mine as well, but I can't afford it anymore, perhaps when I've got me a fabulosa part time job aha!

  27. I revamped my blog for the new year because your blog and the others I subscribe to are probably better than most books I read.

I used your Wednesday Wants idea but I gave you credit for it and linked it to you. You can check here : www.perfectpoise.blogspot.com

Thank you for writing such an informative and fashion forward blog.

Sally: Thank you (: Bleugh I know, I'm not letting myself look at the website again "just in case"! I'm really tempted by the dress for my birthday though!
