Thank God it's Friday, right? I think I speak for us all when I utter that phrase, this week has been the longest ever for me, and a struggle to get up and function every day. Fridays are my Styling days (a lecture and a seminar from 9am), so true to the unit, I usually like to make a bit more of an effort to wear an outfit relatively suited to what I "do". I think my outfit came out looking a bit avant-garde, wannabe painter/artistic girl though?!

(Minnie Mouse I Love NY Top, River Island;
Full skirt, Zara;
Tights, both Primark;
'Hope' Bracelet, Dolly Bow Bow;
Rings, Topshop and Dolly Bow Bow.)

I wonder why exactly it is that we associate the "artistic" stereotype with these oversized tops and black pieces, I feel both New-Yorker and Parisien in this outfit? Hello identity crisis haha! I have never been to New York, and I'm so so gutted that I missed out on going along with the girls & our Uni course. I really like this full skirt from Zara, not something I would see myself in but my hyped looks on Lookbook apparently show that I have an affinity for these! I'm 99.9% sure that this top used to be a lovely oatmeal/cream colour, but I think I washed it in a bleachy-based load last year... Sob! While we're on the subject of these I Love... tops, I really must find my I Love Paris top ): Also! Doubled up my patterned bow tights with a pair of 15 denier black tights underneath for extra warmth, I've found it's quite a nice way to downplay the pattern which some people find intimidating.

I've been trying to revamp little bits of the blog this week, I originally wanted a new header, a light background, a less cluttered sidebar, but that hasn't happened at all. Instead, I have updated my blogroll, my portfolio, about me and FAQ page, and introduced a new, fortnightly recommended blog feature. The new recommended blog feature is in my sidebar and will remain there for 2 weeks, until I change it on a Wednesday! If you have any new blogs that you think I'll like, please email me them here! Today I was also featured on Spark, a magazine for the University of Sunderland, just about my blog and all!

Yesterday I decided to start using my Tumblr again. It seems everyone on here has one too now, so I might as well resurrect my old account and use it for a visual scrapbook and a little side project to this blog. Go follow me HERE! If you know any good Tumblr theme/coding websites, pop the links in a comment for me? I've completely forgotten how to use it (other than basic HTML)!

  3. Adorable outfit! I went to New York when I was 17, it really was the most amazing place ever (plus I got my picture taken with the super hot abercrombie and fitch model, yum), and I think you would definitely fit in with this outfit! xxx

    Sian: I've had my account since about 2008 but thought I'd restart it and see how it all worked out this time (: Waaa I know! I might unpick the thread, add my own belt loop on it, which would let me wear other belts? Ooh gosh, glitter glue?! Not a good look usually! xxxx

    Heather-Louise: Thanks Heather (: I'm so jealous! I'm still kicking myself that I chose to live somewhere more expensive & sacrificed my NYC trip! Oh well, I'm planning to save and treat myself after graduation. xxx

    Katie: Thank you! Haha yeah I used to wear tights under jeans, back when I wore jeans! but it was so uncomfortable. Ooh thanks for following, have followed you back (: x

  34. This is a 'cute' outfit I'd say. Love tshirts like this with like 'normal' clothes, the outfit would look so different & have a totally different style if it was put with leggings or jeans.
    I adore this skirt, I think I may pop into Zara and have a little look
    I keep fiddling with my blog, I must stop! lol
