Review: Sifone Speedy Straight Foam

Monday, 26 April 2010

Just an ultra-quick product squee for you! I actually bought this in Hong Kong last summer, so I'm not really too sure if you can buy this in England etc. but I'm sure eBay and other online stores will have it.

Sifoné Hair Speedy Straight Foam
(Being a failure at blogging today... I have no idea how much this cost me haha! Maybe about HK$14?)

The product is basically to tame messy hair, and is to be used with dry hair, although I frequently choose to ignore this and use it on damp hair for equally, if not better, results. The back of the bottle says "Tangled and messy hair becomes straight instantly without using water or a blowdryer. Contains silky protein with natural moisturing function effect, gives a silky soft texture to the hair. Prevents dryness and frizziness. Leaves hair long-lasting smooth without sticky feeling." (Minor failed translation from there... ><")

(Webcam photos! I look like a spak... stupid facial expressions, NO make-up... Ugh I'm a failure to blogging!)

This is what my hair surprisingly looks like at the moment. I washed it with Lush Big shampoo for maximum volume, and towel-dried it, then applied one pump of the product, running it through my hair and avoiding the roots. Then I left it to dry naturally, and straightened it.

As you can see, my hair looks surprisingly soft and smooth looking, considering it usually looks ugly and dry. And this is after straightening! Without this product, my hair frizzes easily... However when I do use it, I don't even need to restraighten my hair in the morning or anything :)

My favourite hair product!

NOTD and Ins & Outs #5

Sunday, 25 April 2010

Sunday. Um. I have never been so bored in my entire life. Fact. Which is why I've done this to my nails tonight:

L-R: Barry M: 262 (Bright Red), 279 (Bright Pink), 276 (Mulberry Pink), 119 (Baby Pink), 282 (French Polish), 54 (Base)

The sad part is the fact that this is about a quarter of my Barry M collection. Cheap as chips, funnily enough of which none appear to arise after 4-5 days of nail varnish wearing with these babies, I honestly can't resist a good ol' Barry M nail paint!

Ins & Outs #5

INS:
♥ Finishing about 97.5% of my Uni work - three weeks in advance! Thus leaving me with ample spare time to laze about in the parks in Southampton, shop/window shop to my heart's content, read blogs and be on top of them for once, nap and generally do whatever the heck I want.

♥ Receiving a £10 grab bag at Lush yesterday, which contained 2 large chunks of Bohemian and Vanilla in the Mist soaps, and an Easter bath ballistic. Good times overall!

♥ My Mumma is such a darling; she's been ringing me daily to make sure I'm okay because she knows how 'meh' I feel about living in the flat sometimes :) I love our phonecalls so so much! And, almost all of our phonecalls last for 11 minutes and 11 seconds :O

♥ Spontaneous day trip to Bournemouth with Heather! Definitely our best random idea since Uni started... This almost beats S Club night! It was so sunny and warm there yesterday as well, absolutely beautiful :) We even bought stick rock, ice-creams and attempted to brave the fuh-reezing cold sea for photographs.

♥ BBQs and picnics with the girls almost every day of this week after seminars and lectures has been fun :) I was extremely proud of not giving myself food poisoning after our little park BBQ sesh on Wednesday! Also: toasted marshmallows are the nommiest thing ever, always one of my favourite things in the summer.

♥ Being madeover in Benefit! Yay!

OUTS:
♥ Constant, persistant moaning. I will not go into details :) 'Tis nothing to do with my lovely blogging chicas, don't worry!

♥ Lack of money. This is constantly going to be an 'out' until I graduate, most likely.

♥ Lack of motivation. You seriously do not even want to see the state of this bedroom! It is gross. On the bright side, it smells deelish and of Lush ;D

♥ Feeling nostalgic for much better times from early last year and late 2008. No more shall be said on this either...

Hope you've all had lovely weekends!

XOXO

Primark Haul

Thursday, 22 April 2010

I'm scarily nearing the end of my first year of Uni! Relieved as I am that I've survived a year of living "on my own" and working away at my Uni assignments with no motivation coming from my brother (we used to motivate each other in stupid ways) and Mum, I'm also a bit sad to leave the madness of fresher year behind. I've also changed my second year optional unit since I last blogged in relation to Uni, and will now be taking (fingers crossed!) Fashion & Styling, as well as my core modules in Magazine Photography, What's the Story?, Fashion and Cultural Influence, and Magazines & Markets. It should be a packed year!

Anyway, today I went on a mini Primark spree to spend the remainder of what I earnt over the Easter :) For readers who don't live in England, Primark is a cheap high street clothing store who sell okay-but-not-amazing-quality clothes. A one-stop shopping point for students! I was actually in there to pick up some sundresses and playsuits for the summer, but ended up with completely different items...

  • Coral double-layered skirt - £5
  • Black rattan straw bag - £6
  • Tan plait skinny belt - £1
  • Vintage red chain belt - £2 (this made me laugh... vintage in Primark?!)
  • Sheer grey spot tights - £2

  • My favourite buy was probably the little black rattan straw bag. It was the most expensive piece at £6, but it looks so adorable, and £6 is hardly extravagant! Has anyone else picked up some pretty bargains in Primark recently?

    Favourite Blogs

    Wednesday, 21 April 2010

Hola chicas ;D Thought I would post a selection of my favourite fashion and beauty blogs for you to check out and follow while we're halfway through the week! This week has flown past like crazy for me, I don't know about you... Hopefully no-one has been too affected by the volcanic ash cloud over the UK. I know some people who can't fly back until May, which is crazy! Onto my favourites then!

    ♥ Zoe @ Zoella
I'm not going to lie, Zoe's blog is probably the blog that made me think of starting my own. If you haven't read her blog, then where have you been?! She's so lovely and sweet, and sends some of the funniest Tweets! I love reading Zoe's Lush reviews, car boot sale hauls and lippie posts, obviously amongst all of her other posts, which range from fashion and blog tags to interiors. Definitely worth a read - you'll be addicted in no time :)

    ♥ Abbie @ AbbieBabby
I only recently discovered Abbie's blog, but I'm quite glad I stumbled upon this one! Again, Abbie's blog is full of make-up product reviews and her recommendations, which I love reading because I'm the type of person who needs about 5 'second opinions' before I can settle on purchasing something ;) Her make-up always looks flawless. Gah, jealous :3

    ♥ Annabel @ blushingambition
Another blog I stumbled upon recently. I think what drew me to this blog is the amazing quality of Annabel's self-taken photographs :O They are quite simply perfect! I love blogs that use large, good quality photos, I'm not quite sure why. Anyway, enough of my weirdness... Annabel blogs about a mixture of food recommendations (just reading a post is enough to make me hungry :p) and fashion posts.

    ♥ Emma @ oh emma
I love Emma's blog - she has amazing style and the best vintage pieces ever. End of. Get following or you'll be missing out!

    ♥ Lauren @ Paris Boutique
I am honestly never going to stop reading Lauren's blog :) Lauren was my 4th or 5th ever follower and really helped me get on my feet and get a bit more confident with blogging! She posts a huge array of posts, from reviews and recommendations to hauls and posts about her adorable daughter :)

    ♥ Charlotte @ Unicorn Candles
I started following this blog today, and I'm not quite sure what it is about this blog that makes me want to keep reading more. She posts a lot of pretty photos, and has a lovely writing style. I do enjoy reading this a LOT.

♥ Milly @ Pearls and Poodles
Like Lauren, Milly was one of my first followers and helped me gain a lot more by helping me get more confident in this whole shebang. Her blog is the cutest thing ever! She Tweets the most lovely messages and is such a sweetheart :)

Another blog with beautiful quality photographs. I absolutely love this blog because every time I read it, I discover something or somewhere new :) Her writing style is great, and so addictive... I can already predict you lovelies will spend hours reading this, just as I have done!

I'll be posting some more of my favourite blogs v.soon! Send me your blog links; there's always room for new blogs to read in my life ;D And finally: thank you for helping me reach 140 followers :O When the heck did that happen?!

Retro Lush Weekend & Soap Storage

    Tuesday, 20 April 2010

This weekend (17th & 18th April) was Retro Lush Weekend in Southampton, so I popped over for a nosey with my flatmate to see if we could pick anything amazing up. Personally, I thought that the Retro sale was a little lame, it was only a tiny table's worth of products... I can't even use "tiny table full" because that would be a complete lie! The products on offer were:

    Aura Suavis Shower Gel 500g
    World Peace Bath Ballistic
    Bon Bomb Bath Ballistic
    Fizzy O Therapy Bath Ballistic
    Fairy Jasmine Bath Ballistic
    Happy Bubble Bar
    Two Timing Tart Bubble Bar
    Aura Suavis Bubble Bar
    Marziban Bubble Bar
... as well as a range of yummy smelling soaps!

But by the time we'd made it down to the store at about 1pm, most of the above was gone *sad face* I would've stocked up on bubble bars and Fairy Jasmine haha!

I ended up buying the HUGE Aura Suavis shower gel, which smells lovely - the bottle describes it as a blend of clary sage, geranium and coriander. It is so refreshing, if not a tiny bit strong... flatmates were saying they could smell my shower down the corridor!

And also: how do you lovely ladies store your Lush soaps?

I finally took to cutting my chunks of Honey I Washed The Kids and The Godmother into small chunks. It is a lot easier to take a small section into the shower, or to have by your sink, and it goes a long long way! I'm currently storing mine in tupperware boxes as you can see :)

    Update

    Monday, 19 April 2010

    (image taken from weheartit.com)

I haven't blogged properly (or been Tweeting :O) for days... I broked my laptop on Wednesday, and luckily I'd scheduled a few posts to keep my bloggy going for the weekend! I think my laptop is back to normal now, so normal posting shall resume!

I spent the weekend travelling through London to get back to Southy - nightmare! Rewarded myself with several hours in the sun though, and still didn't tan! I don't know what it is with my skin, but I never tan. Pale suits me much more :)

I'm back to Uni starting today... A nice early start for me in order to pick my options. The website was possibly the singlemost confusing thing I've encountered this year! I dithered for absolutely ages between Focus on Fashion, and Making Magazines, but ended up picking Focus on Fashion in the end. I am not looking forward to the historical and cultural modules next year *shudders* Will try harder next year!

Hope you all had lovely, relaxing, sun-filled weekends!

    Exciting News!

    Wednesday, 14 April 2010

Good afternoon m'lovelies! We're halfway through the week and I bring you some exciting news ;) Firstly, my return to Southampton next week is exciting me greatly! I love home but I think some time in the city is what I need right now :) And secondly, my blog and I (yes, my blog is now a person... *cough*) are partnering with a company/website called Qype.

The website is an online city guide, with recommendations and reviews for shopping, eating and drinking, entertainment, beauty & nightlife amongst many more features, and I've been asked to be interviewed for their blog too, which I'm excited about! Click on the link in the sidebar, or here, to see the site:

I'll be posting more about Qype and the interview when it gets published! So for now, check out the site :) You can also change the location, and find out more about shopping etc. in your city/town.

    London "Haul"

    Tuesday, 13 April 2010

What happens when... 3 girls, 3 wishlists, a student loan and copious amounts of coffee are let loose in London!

So yesterday, Sharon, Selina & I took a trip to London in search of pretty things and ventured all around London for things to waste money on. We didn't actually buy that much considering the amount of places we ended up in but hey ho! we had a good time anyway :) I don't think I've ever had a shopping trip to London where I've returned with quite a bit of money leftover haha.

I'm not going to talk for ages about all the places we went to... but the places we did visit were, Westfield Shopping Centre in White City, Oxford Street (Obviously! Although we spent more time in Starbucks than shopping lol), Covent Garden and Chinatown/Leicester Square.

And now for my pretty purchases:

    • Bird and flower photo peg chain - Sass & Belle - £7.95
    • Swan ring - Topshop - £7
    • Pale mint green crinkle lace top - Topshop - £28
    • Revlon Matte lipstick in 001 Nude Attitude - Boots - £5.29 (with voucher discount)
    • BB Seaweed Fresh Facemask - Lush - £4.95

    Ins & Outs #4

    Sunday, 11 April 2010

    Ins & Outs #4

    INS:
♥ The beautiful English summer *cough* But seriously, this week has been absolutely beautimous, I am sure my British followers will agree :) I've indulged in many a walk and general enjoyment of the sun. I also discovered an adorable farm on the outskirts of the town (I live right on the edge of my town) which I may pay a geeky little visit to soon! Good times.

♥ Boots offers galore! 3 for 2 on skincare (I think) - I went in to Boots to pick up another make-up remover and face toner, and got myself some free cleansing wipes, which are perfect for the summer and for using on the go to sort out cakey make-up and/or smudges of eye make-up. Also received a £2 off Revlon and No 7 cosmetics voucher.

♥ Saw 'Remember Me' with Sharon on Wednesday with pretty low expectations of the film and ended up absolutely loving it. Was pretty emotional towards the end, but you know me, I can't through a film without tearing up at some point. Definitely buying this on DVD.

♥ Went shopping with the muv on Thursday in search of jeans. I hate jeans shopping... but she also purchased a gorgeous top for me in River Island. I adoreee the Bank of Mum haha.

♥ I'm going to London for shopping & sushi with Sharon and Selina tomorrow! Haven't been to London in about 3 or 4 weeks now, so it'll be good to spend some time in the City, and hopefully sun! Excited to visit Sass and Belle (read my post about it here), and go for a real splurge.

♥ My yummy student loan arrived early! Perfect for London tomorrow I would believe ;)

    OUTS:
♥ Having to work until silly o'clock on two of the prettiest looking days this week killed me. I obviously love clearing away dirty dishes and dealing with rude customers...

♥ My ridiculous cold. It's actually gone now, but it's been annoying me all week.

♥ Lack of motivation. I could easily waste entire days in bed at the moment. Gimme a book and my iPod and I could camp out there for days without food or water. Well, maybe a little water.

♥ I'm so pale :( Not pale as in not-tanned, although I'm that as well. But it's TTOM and I look like a Cullen. My Mum remarks that I look like I'm "ready to drop dead" at the moment! Not good...

    The World Is A Catwalk

    Saturday, 10 April 2010

Working as a waitress and bar staff at my parents' restaurant has probably not been the most glamourous part of my life, but it's a start. How might waitressing contribute to my aspiring fashion career? I'll let you in on a secret... In the evening, the place transforms, with spotlight lighting and a plush bar, setting the scene for the dinner attire catwalk.

Restaurants are frequently treated to view all of the year's seasonal trends in the space of about five to six hours in the evening. So what is the "proper" evening meal attire?

First in the collection are the casually dressed, pram-pushing, heavy bag laden couples, who bring in their cute but loud offspring for a quick meal before the kids' bedtime. Usually, but not always, dressed in a Tesco's F&F outfit, and looking overtired, it isn't the best way to start the show. The children will almost always make up for this insignificant factor, with adorable candy pink dresses, cream tights and little shoes from Clarks, and the shirt and leather jacket combo from the boys' side.

Next up are the Sweet Sixteeners. We all know the type from MTV's My Super Bratty and Spoilt Sweet 16; rich, spoilt, usually stuck-up and dressed up to the nines. These come with a group, no, army, of short dress and skyscraper heel clad girls, all brandishing candy-colour wrapped presents and balloons and a sickeningly loud laugh. I'll give it to them, these girls are sometimes the best-dressed of the evening, Mummy and Daddy have paid out well for dresses from Topshop, New Look and other same-y looking high street retailers, and matching heels that were probably never meant for a sixteen year old, which the girl struggles to walk in. Perhaps a little overdressed for 7pm though girls?

Then we get serious. The wine is poured. Music sets the mood. Cutesy couples stroll in hand-in-hand, the guy just as well-dressed as the girl, families with older (non-screaming) children and The Elite, those with table bookings. These dress like they mean it, casual but not too casual, smart but not too smart, perfectly appropriate for the tone of the restaurant. It is around 8pm that the restaurant once again settles down into the proper atmosphere. The couples looking cute in unintentionally matching outfits, families being civilised and proper at the dinner table, and a crowd of exceptionally well-dressed and good-looking people in their function rooms.

As the clock creeps towards closing time, handfuls of extremely underdressed Uni students wander in, grabbing a quick meal before returning to their work or hurrying back to their flats to get ready for a night out. More likely the latter, speaking from experience. These rock the casual look SO well - no other group could pull off a messy pile of hair on top of the head, standard Uni hoodie and Hollister joggers. Where do they find the money for Hollister?!

Closing. The catwalk ends, and the staff breathe a sigh of relief. Another show is over. Now to prepare for the next day of Restaurant Fashion Week. The fashion world is calling, it never sleeps.

    Interiors: My Bedroom Part 1

As you all may well know, my bedroom at home has recently undergone a pretty makeover, courtesy of my lovely mother :) I don't know about you, but my Mum, my sister and I are quite big on our interiors and decoration kind of thing. My sister, who is only 14, is looking to become an interior designer, and I just love the thought of having my own flat or house soon and decking it out in pretty things!

Anyway... my room is beautiful now :D We decided on a vintage, ethereal, princessy, shabby chic theme, which came out perfect, but my room is still quite plain now. And this leads me onto the next thing and point of this post (sorry, I can't help but ramble sometimes)!

While on my little London Fashion Week adventure with Tasha way back in February, we "discovered" an adorable little shop in Covent Garden, London called Sass and Belle. I don't know if any of you lovely ladies have come across this little gem before, but I am recommending it to you now!

Basically, their store is full of little gems from RJB Stone, who are wholesalers in interior decor and giftware. This is one of my favourite places to spend an hour or so, because it is packed full of amazing things! I adore their little collections, such as: Hearts, Union Jack, Owls, Apples and Enchanted Forest. Needless to say, I am definitely purchasing a whole host of these goodies on my trip to London on Monday =D

As well as Sass and Belle, the little market area in Covent Garden has plenty of stalls that stock little trinkets and treasures for your rooms ;) Happy hauling ladies - remember to post a link to show me your purchases!

Click here to see their goodies! I don't think you can order online unless you're purchasing in bulk... and lovely as their products are, I doubt you'll be wanting 500 cushions for your room ;)

I'll shall be posting another interiors postie very soon, which will include photographs of my room at the moment :O, so watch this space =D

Does anyone have a shabby chic bedroom? Care to share some shopping spots, tips & tricks?

Review: Benefit 'Life on the A List' Lipgloss & A Little Something...

    Thursday, 8 April 2010

Eee my Benefit lipgloss arrived this morning!
I honestly hadn't even realised that Flake were running a promotion with Benefit when I popped out to Tesco Express for a much needed chocolate fix. As soon as I realised though, I entered my code and won a lipstick or lipgloss of my choice :) I never win anything, so to win with my first bar has excited me to no end haha. I have actually bought several more bars since winning with the hope of winning more... *sigh* I haven't won again since!

I chose Benefit's 'Life on the A List' lipgloss, which is described as a 'bubblegum pink' on their website. Hm. I hadn't realised it was bubblegum o___O; It is quite a nude, salmony kind of pink in my opinion.
I'm wearing this lipgloss as we speak, and I can already tell I'll be getting a LOT of wears out of this baby over the summer!
Happy lipstick hunting and Flake eating girlies! :)

And before I depart for now... this song has been on repeat on the iPod that metaphorically lives in my head all day, and I would like to impose it on you, even if you are not typically a K-pop fan ^___^ Enjoy!

    Film: Remember Me (2010)

Following my ridiculously short Blogger's Block and "break" from blogging (I sucked at it...) I am back with lots of ideas and posts for you :) It must have been something I ate haha!

I went to see 'Remember Me' with my friend Sharon last night, despite hearing lots of bad reviews from people throughout the week. I don't believe we were even watching the same film - I LOVED it :) I will be honest, I'm a pretty big Pattinson fan, as were many of the lovely swooning ladies in the cinema, and have been since the Harry Potter days, so this film was a definite must-see for me.

After a pretty slow and depressing start, this was such an emotive and touching film. Rob definitely plays his part well, and is believable as Tyler, a torn-up poet type, adorable brother and boyfriend to Ally, played by Emilie de Ravin, who is utterly gorgeous. I'm not going to go into details about the plot, because it completely shocked the heck out of Sharon and I! I suppose this is a bit of a Marmite film; some will love it and others will hate it... Hopefully as a beloved reader of my blog, you won't fall into the latter category ;)

Anyone else seen this film yet? What did you think of it?

    A Little Collection of Lush-ness

    Tuesday, 6 April 2010

My little bloggy has been Lush deprived for a while now hasn't it? My Lush posts and reviews seem to be quite popular on here, so I bring you another one, this time in the form of a haul ;) This morning, I received a pretty package from the Lush factory, which I'd ordered just before Easter, I would believe. So here is my little collection of new goodies:

(click any image to enlarge for more detail if needed)
    • American Cream conditioner
    • The Comforter solid perfume
    • Soft solid shampoo bar
    • Bathos bubble bar (missing the B pattern *sob*)
    • Pop in the Bath bubble bar
    • Fairy Jasmine bath ballistic (has tiny glitter particles in it :D)
    • Fluffy Ballistic Egg limited edition Easter bath ballistic
The lovely people at Lush also sent me a freebie! This came in the form of Volcano Foot Mask and Scrub, which I shall review shortly along with the other prods!

I totally forgot to order my facemask :O And I should have bought another soap... But that'll be on my list for my next order :) Thoughts on these products?

    XOXO

    Update & Shoes! (Glorious Shoes!)

    Monday, 5 April 2010

Hola chicas! Hope you all had lovely Easter weekends and rested a lot (even though I already know many of my beautifuls went after my own heart and partied hard!)

I spent the day ill and feeling sorry for myself while slaving away once again at my Fashion & Culture essay. That beast will be the death of me I'm sure... Then I went for dinner at my Gran's house, which was lovely as per usual! Gran's going away for 3 weeks on Wednesday *sob* I won't be seeing her for over a month :( Anyway, onto the post!

Today I started watching (and got addicted to) a Korean drama series called Boys Over Flowers :) I'm constantly watching these dramas and getting way too into them and I can sense this one taking over my life again soon! But when watching it, one particular line stood out to me:

"Good shoes take you to good places."

How true is this quote girls?! Whereas most girls would count shoes as their fashion favourite, I'd say I have a love/hate relationship with them. I personally prefer handbags, of which I own over 35 of. Ooopsie. Why, you may say? I honestly have serious problems in selecting just one or two pairs to purchase when faced with displays of beautiful creations, whether at my local New Look, Kurt Geiger or just at your average Joe's shop. I will either splurge on many pairs of shoes that I never wear, walk out in annoyance that none were suitable or buy just one pair and spend the rest of my day cursing myself for wasting an opportunity.

    Sigh.

I currently own 12 pairs of shoes. ><" *hangs head in shame* Yes, I'm a failure to fashion students everywhere.

But anyway, "good shoes take you to good places," - you wouldn't wear your Louboutins to buy bread and milk! - and I am finally converting to a shoe-luster-after. I shall leave you with these beauties to admire:

Alice in Wonderland shoes - Nicholas Kirkwood

(images taken from Miu Miu website)

So ladies, are you a shoe obsessive? Or more of a handbag gal?

And if you're interested in watching Boys Over Flowers with me (please do!), shimmy your pretty self over here :) Be warned... you'll have to be patient with subtitles.

    XOXO

    Style Inspiration: Taylor Swift

If you follow me on Twitter, I am sure you'll know that I am a ridiculously big fan of Taylor Swift (and proud!). I love her music, cheesy as people think it is, and have seen her live in concert twice - she was absolutely amazing both times!

I bought both the UK and US editions of ELLE magazine this month. Yes, I am that much of a magazine junkie! And *squees* Tay was on the cover of the US issue. Probably the motivation towards me spending an extra £3.95 on magazines this month haha :) She looks absolutely beautiful in this issue, even with straight hair which I'm not a fan of on her.

Love how Joe Zee styled Taylor in this feature. It's similar to how my photoshoot for my romantic chic feature was supposed to be styled... only I couldn't afford the pieces I wanted from Topshop and Zara, let alone the Chloe and Oscar de la Renta pieces that Miss Swift wears in this! It still shows her personality, but is slightly one-up on the floral sundresses that Taylor loves to wear.

    XOXO

    OOTD and Update :)

    Saturday, 3 April 2010

Another OOTD, I don't know if you enjoy seeing these, but you're getting one today anyway haha!

    • Pink cardigan - Saved from a friend's "unwanted clothing" pile, no label
    • Shirt - Topshop
    • Floral Camisole - Peacocks
    • Leggings - New Look
    • Skinny Belt - Primark
    • Clock Necklace - Accessorize

Popped into town to pick up some bits and bobs with my little sister today. Possibly not one of my brighter ideas, considering it was Saturday and during the Easter break... the place was rammed with chavs and their children, several hundred pushchairs and lots of orange-faced girls. Oh and my hometown's football team were playing so there were PCSO's everywhere as well...

Did buy a few things though, including a GOSH Darling lipstick at last - time to see what all the fuss is about ;) Also bought some Blackberry skins amongst other boring items :)

Apologies for my ridiculously dirty laptop! This is one of my pretty skins ;) Hope you're all having lovely Easter weekends and are indulging in lots of chocolate as I am!

    XOXO

    Popping my MAC Cherry!

    Hello my lovelies!

It is time *gasp* to pop my MAC cherry :O I've heard so many amazing things about MAC and have always wanted to purchase some goodies to add to my make-up collection, but the price has usually put me off (along with the fact that there wasn't anywhere back at home to purchase MAC). However... I am extremely tempted to try some prods now that I'm more knowledgeable haha ;)

So my question to you girlies is:

What do you suggest for a first-time MAC-er? Any recommendations, personal favourites?

Preferably, I'm looking at buying eye and/or lip products.

    XOXO

This week, the trailer for the sixth and final season of The Hills was finally released! Even before I clicked play on the teeny tiny video, I had braced myself for 3 minutes of cringey, staged scenes from one of my favourite TV shows of all time. I must admit, I do have a love/hate relationship with The Hills. You see, I am one of those avid followers, who has always adored Lauren Conrad and her girly, summery, Californian, and sometimes naive, ways, and has watched her blossom into a designer, author, reality star from her bleach-blonde Laguna Beach days. But after season 4, it felt completely manipulated and any scene with Speidi makes me die a little inside - so fake! What kind of person calls the paparazzi and forces them upon their own wedding?!

I was actually even quite reluctant to watch the second half of season 5, when Kristin Cavalleri (Remember her? The mouthy one from season 2 who enjoyed whining "Ste-pheeeennnn" every two minutes on LB) took over from Lauren *sob* But nevertheless, Florence and I perservered and watched every episode in our cold Uni rooms, cringing at Justin Bobby's ways and the complete immaturity of Kristin... and wondering when in the heck Stacie the bartender became friends with the cast!

Season 6 looks pretty good actually. The trailer has clips from all the previous seasons - good times ;) But erm, the new season with the Steph/Kristin drama, and Heidi/Heidi's Mum scenes looks dramatic as anything! Heidi looks worse every time I see her post-surgery. The Hills was never the same without Lauren in my opinion :(

Yay or nay to season 6? Will you be watching?

    XOXO
