1. It was so cold this week! I was "forced" to start lighting my candles in order just to keep relatively warm in my room. On this note, no matter how amazing the Ikea candles department smells in-store, once lit, I was actually really disappointed with their candles, mine didn't scent my room in the slightest! Was quite fun to snap away at the flickering fame and pretend to be a photographer and all that though! ;) *wannabe*

2. The studio set-up for Leanne's photoshoot on Monday! We managed to get the most used and battered backdrop ever, and it was so busy that no-one was around to fix it or install a new one. Either way, it was really fun to shoot, if not tiring!

3. On Monday, I also received my jewellery picks from Sarah. Pop over to her blog and Etsy for beautiful handmade goodies! I'm still loving the adorable packaging and miniature shipping tag on the box!

4. This was my outfit of choice for Tuesday's cocktail night out with the girls. We actually had a pretty good night, and it even started snowing outside! Realised midway through drinking games and Malibu + Cokes that Aiden Grimshaw (from the X Factor!) was performing in that same bar... on Wednesday night. Fail! Also, from the looks of this photo, I'm gonna have to face that my H&M bodycon skirt has had its' day: look how stretched and baggy it's gotten!

5. My newest addition to my lipstick collection arrived on Wednesday (I'm gonna say Wednesday, even though I can't remember!) I highly recommend Cut A Caper, its a lovely coral pink colour, and nice and sheer for those who are afraid of colour like myself!

6. The scene in my room on Wednesday night. Late, on Wednesday night. I actually managed to get my entire Magazine Photography production essay written... at 2am. I'm such a night owl, I work 100x better in the dead of night! But I'm glad I now have all of this semester's work completed well ahead of deadline day, which is next Wednesday.

7. So, on Wednesday night/Thursday morning, while writing my essay, apparently there was a bit of a snow blizzard in Southampz. Obviously I had to sit and snap a few photos while it started to settle! We ended up having two snow days off Uni on Thursday and Friday. Hello hibernation!

8. Been burning my new Yankee candle all week. The Christmas Cookie one is currently on offer (25% OFF GUYZ!) and smells so beautiful, the scent is much nicer and noticeable than my £2.99 Ikea one! Go & splurge gals, such a festive scent!

9. Finishing off the last of my j-Log, which is my visual inspirations and influence portfolio, as part of my Magazine Photography assignment. Armed with Twitter to relieve me of my boredom! (PS. I literally do about 80% of my Uni work from the comfort of my bed - oh to be a student!)

10. My tights from Thursday's outfit post! Not quite sure why, but I took this photo with all the intention of adding it in the post, and I forgot to include it, boo ): I like to include these just to show the finer details in my outfits, as I wear a lot of patterned tights! These honestly kept me nice and warm during Thursday's snow day!

11. I actually received these hair grips from Sophie at Crown & Glory (thanks Soph!) for winning a Twitter competition last week, but as I was out of action, I hadn't managed to take a decent photo of them! Been wearing these in my hair, pinning the longer bits of my hair away from my face, or to clip the back of my hair to the side, and I really like them: not too flashy, but pretty enough to add a sweet touch to your hair!

12. This week sees the return of my toast and jam obsessions. Currently having strawberry jam on toast, but I might venture over the raspberry side next week. Thoughts on jam flavours?!

13. Made this beautiful - if I must say so myself! - vegetable pasta bake earlier in the week. Well, it was vegetable pasta bake until I added bits of crispy bacon into the mix! I love fusilli pasta with the orange and green pieces, green pasta is so nice! Totally giving Prezzo a run for their money!

14. An awful photo of me, but nice of Emily! This was me and my friend Emily being utter geeks and taking a photo next to the Christmas tree in our Uni library haha (: So jealous of Emily right now, as the day after this was taken, she jetted off to New York for our annual course trip! I'm still kicking myself that I'm living in an expensive flat this year so I couldn't afford the trip in the end. Even more gutted that as we speak, some of the girls are probably ice-skating in Central Park, or on the Gossip Girl set tour! :'(

15. Another Pret lunch ;) Do I need to say any more?!

  2. I love reading these posts! The snow photos are lovely, although as beautiful as it is I'm starting to get a bit fed up with it now... I have a toast and jam obsession too, Strawberry is my favourite :) I know what you mean about working better late at night, I do too - the majority of my coursework has been written while everyone's asleep! Hope you have a lovely week, love your blog as always :) <3 xx

  3. Personally, I'm a fan of apricot jam. Or Morello cherry. Or Bramble Jelly. Hell, I just love stuff spread on bread :)

I LOVE Pret. One of my fave places to go. Yummy coffee and pains au raisin to die for!

I have a Yankee on the go atm too, Christmas Wreath I think. It's green and kind of pine-y, but not in a Toilet Duck way. You can't beat Yankee at this time of year, I've heard the Spiced Orange one is particularly festive!

  5. I love candles! They're so weirdly mesmerising haha; sometimes I find myself staring right at the heart of the flame for a good 5 minutes! That photo of the view from your window is so beautiful! What little snow we had has melted away now and the sun's out so anyone would think it's not Winter! As weird as it is to admit, I do always think when I see patterned tights on other blogs "ooh, daisybutter has those" or "that is so daisybutter" even though I know your name is Michelle! I think I need to start spending more time in "real life" haha x

  8. jade: thank you! that is the view directly down from our living room! we overlook the marina and sea, but you couldn't see it through all the snow!

ellie: thank you! the snow has completely been washed away from where i am now, but i know what you mean, the snow is beautiful until people walk on it and it gets icy and/or sludgey! haha me too, i always try to be so quiet as well, in case i wake someone up, such a funny experience, creeping around my room gathering notes! hope you have a nice week too sweet!

konni: oh, morello cherry jam sounds beyond gorgeous! i might have to persuade my mumma to buy some for home when i go back! i think i just love bread in general, especially freshly baked bread! spiced orange sounds SO good, i might just have to get a taster candle jar of that!

susanne: mm me too! they last forever, and smell so unbelievably good (:

jade: oh i know just what you mean, i love watching the flickering flame *saddo* its so unpredictable and nice to watch! awh, it doesn't look like winter here now either, the sun has come out and is reflecting off the sea and everything right now! aww i always think that too, i shop for other bloggers and then i'm like "snap out of it mish!" thanks lovely, your comment made me smile! <3

  10. katie: haha i've had two slices today already, i should realistically be about 20 stone with the amount of food i consume! thank you hun (:

emma: thank you! they were from h&m! my yankee candle was from the yankee candle store in the city centre, i'm not sure where else stocks them, although i'm about 90% sure that the larger clinton cards stores sell them! hope that helps!

  23. I have 3 ikea candles and they're useless, apart from looking like a nice candle ¬_¬. I think i'll invest in some more pricier ones. Although i'm pretty sure i didn't pay £2.99 for them, it was like something less than a pound i think.

I always love the food photos! Maybe cos i'm a little bit of a fatty lol.

Oooofh, I'm such a jam fan. Have you ever tried bramble jelly? It sounds odd but my gosh, it's so so nice on toast. Mmm that pasta bake looks so good! Have a lovely sunday sweet.

  31. Cut A Caper is so nice isn't it! It's probably my go-to now, suits my skin so nice and much more flattering than a nude! Where did you get the Yankee candle from or are they on sale everywhere? Cannot justify spending normal retail price for those things! x

  32. i have the same sheets on my bed as you! are they from tesco but they look like cath kidson!! :) i love crown and glory stuff sophie is such a doll! xo

  33. raspberry is most definitely the best jam flavour- and believe me, i've lived on jam toast for breakfast since as long as i can remember.
blackcurrant is lovely too, but i'm not a fan of the whole berries that normally come in it, so i leave those out. and mixed fruit jams (usually with rhubarb, apple, berries and so on) are really nice.

and that was probably too much to have to say about jam.. but you know. -dork-

    xx

  35. emma: thank you! oh gosh, life would be much nicer if they were properly scented, the candle smelt deceptively nice in ikea! oh well! for all of £2 or whatever i paid, what can ya do?!

bee: thanks sweet! i'll probably reuse the ikea candle glass once i'm done with it, may as well get some sort of use from it to be honest! thanks lovely! oh bramble jelly sounds quite different haha! hope you had a nice time bowling today ;)

sarah: i love christmas! they'll only be getting more christmassy as the weeks progress! totally craving toast and jam now. hmm.

bows and butterflies: thank you (:

belle: totally! or i would if i had any type of food in right now! you know you fail at being a student when you're out of pasta ;) i bought mine from a candle store in southampton city centre, in the mall, but i think they sell them a bit cheaper at some clintons stores?! they do make lovely presents! you're welcome hun, defs have to meet up over christmas so you can vent some more (: xxx

emma: i love it! i had my eye on it when the TT collection came out, and thought i may as well order it as a 'well done for finishing your work' present ;) i bought mine at the candle store in southampton city centre, but i think they sell them at larger clintons stores for a bit cheaper?!

vicki: YES! high five for tesco sheets ;)

chloe: omnom, raspberry jam <3 oh i'm not a huge fan of jam with lots of bits in it, i find it makes it so awkward to eat! aha i appreciated the long comment about jam chloe! <3

kylie: yep haha! oh most of my work is just typed up now, but i know what you mean, i kept dropping my fineliners, ink side down of course, so i have strange dots everywhere, eek! :/

amy: thanks lovely! i wouldn't go as far as to say i'm a photographer by any means, but having this weekly feature has evoked a much bigger interest of photography in me!

  44. That hot chocolate looks incredible! I'm a night owl too - in my first year of uni sometimes I'd stay up all night writing an essay, until about 6am! In fact I have loads of work to do tonight that I haven't started yet, and it's already quarter past 8 :-S. I really like your duvet cover.

lorna: oh gosh it was the most epic hot chocolate ever, i'm dreading to even think about the amount of calories in it! ME TOO! that's what i was like in first year aha, although i haven't done it as much this year as my flatmates sleep really early and i'm worried about waking them up! thanks hun, it was from tesco ;)

emma: thanks sweet! they are surprisingly warm, i'm probably going to go and buy them in light grey or black as well (: hope you've been keeping warm, can't imagine how cold it must be where you are!
